Love or hate CMR you have to place him in the top ten active coaches

You want a available NC coach with SEC experience Fat Phil is available and so is cheese stick if we buy a QB and DL for him

Ask USC if they would hand the keys to their program again to Lame me thinks not

At some point CMR will retire, leave, get fired then the discussion for his replacement will start for real

I hope it is not followed by buyers remorse been a few of those in college football in the recent past

Be very careful about what you wish for

Enjoy the bye week listen to P P & M sing about some guy named Michael who is faced with getting the damn boat ashore

Peace Love and cold very cold beer Go Dawgs

Go Dawgs!

An old friend of mine always said that the grass is always greener where he used to be and where he was going. I think I'd rather see what he's got, now that progress is being made, rather than starting over from scratch. We've all seen coaches ,who were great assistants ,completely flop as head coaches and then we've seen guys ,like Mike Smith(Falcons)who nobody really knew, completely turn a team from a laughing stock to respectability seemingly overnight. Now if someone knows one of those we'd all like to know about him, as long as its a sure thing and theres no waiting involved.

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

growl you make what I consider to be some very good points.

There will be one National Champion at the end of each season. Personally, ready for another one, takes 20 years or so, probably won't get to enjoy it. However, I am a believer, so might get to see it from up high.

Anyone that says that Mark Richt is the same coach that signed on in Athens, well, opinions are easy to arrive at, many times don't produce results.

Had lost faith in Mark Richt for all of the reasons that have been mentioned on this board some time back. At one point, would not have bothered me one bit to see Richt ride off into the sunset. He made some poor choices for his supporting cast.

Hard for me to base those same feelings on what I have seen in the last couple of years. Don't know how many times I have said this, probably will again. Like McGarity or not, he grew up under one tough s*b at Florida. Foley will pull the trigger on anyone, in a heart beat. There have been changes in Athens under Mac.

Lots of talk about Todd Grantham and the yardage his defense is giving up. I don't like giving up the yardage, but I think, think I know this . . . . Todd Grantham is pretty damn high on a lot of lists, apparently he knows a little something about football. Also believe Grantham is closer to where he wants his defense to be at this point. While his previous players might not have lived up to their capabilities in Athens, they seem to be doing pretty well in the pros. Yes, I know that is coaching. The thing I like best about Grantham, it will always be the next man up, regardless of circumstance. That is what I refer to as coaching them up.

Don't know for sure, but I am going to assume that someone had a hand in chopping the dead wood on the coaching staff. Witnessed some of that in the last few years. Willie left with his tail on his shoulders, guess that Richt or someone gave him the boot.

Comes down to this for me. Mark Richt might never get us to a National Championship, do know this from the past two or three years . . . . He wants to win the NC. Sometimes you can be the head of the group, but it does not mean you know all there is to know.

At this point in time, I will go with Richt, don't think I have seen a better recruiter in the "time of Alabama/Saban/Smart" in the SEC. One thing I do know, he has turned several of the jobs over to his assistants, whether any of us like that or them or not, if I am a voting board member, that makes a world of sense to me. I accept the fact that Mark Richt needed some help. I believe McGarity is the man that is turning this program around. McGarity knows that the "cash cow" is more important than personalities. Sooner or later it all comes down to . . . . follow the money.

One last thingy or two. Some questioned Will Friend as a coach after the Clemson game. Will Friend is one of those Alabama boys, he likes football. Haven't heard Will Friend's name mentioned in all of the posts on this board and others. Guess we need to replace him also.

Stopped South Carolina from scoring on fourth down. Assuming that many on this board have read elsewhere that Grantham told his troops the play that the Cocks would run in a similar situation. We/UGA practiced that play when we were scrimmaging prior to Saturday between the Hedges. Wonder how many folks on this board would have prepared for that "ill advised call" by that fantastic Head Coach Steve Spurrier. The same SS that got it handed to him by . . . . Mark Richt and his group of players and coaches.

You go McGarity, there is a presence in Athens. Personally, not looking for a Head Coach at this point. Have not a single name, want to finish this playbook out before doing that.

Buc, we have shared that if it was not for a pair of red panties Mac would be elsewhere

Mac is what CMR and our program needed to refocus and get us heading in the right direction

Enjoyed watching Holtz having to say good thing about our coaches and players you could see the pain on his face-love it !

No question the loss to Clemson put a wake up call out to our players Dawgs manned up

LSU more of the same strong dose of RB's followed by quick passes Go Dawgs

Go Dawgs!

yankeedawg1, wonder where Alabama would be without Nick Saban? Sometimes in any given situation, one person can make a lot of difference. I believe we have that in McGarity.

Wonder how Auburn would have done without Cam Newton?

Notre Dame, picked up what many thought was one of the very best coaches in college football . . . . maybe he will be, but Michigan did not let that stop them.

Ole Miss looking pretty good right now, wonder how long that will last?

Lane Kiffin was supposed to be the second coming . . . . might be out sooner than later.

A lot of things go into winning National Championships, sometimes luck plays a big role.

Muschamp has a roster full of good and some great football players, seems to have a short coming on the offensive side of the ball.

Back in the day, not that long ago, Mark Richt/Mike Bobo thought we had to have offensive talent exclusively, or seemed that way. Maybe the light was turned to the "on" position.

Anyone watching the Redskins/Eagles game tonight? Sometimes coaches that have never coached in the "league" prove that change can be good.

Sincerely hope that the change that I have spoke of recently about coaching in Athens is the real picture.

Keep building that depth, both sides of the ball. Can make a coach or coaches look real good.
