From Athens-Gameday Friday # 2

Thanks YD1.. good stuff.

I especially like the Groundhog day stuff. That's what I think is sometimes missed by those who think people
who are upset by our defeats are way out of line.

It's not losing one game and people over reacting.... It's losing a whole host of games over several years that
we should have won...because of the exact same issues.

That was just a sidebar though... no real need to start rehashing all that, and there is a fair amount of
over reacting. Some people think that the entire season is lost because no matter how good we are, we always
find a way to get caught at least once with our pants down. It's really funny because it happens almost every
year, but what also happens almost every year is that the team rebounds and plays well..ending
up in SEC championship games regardless of the early season slip up. If we always remember the times we fail,
let's also remember the rest of those same seasons where we come on and finish strong.

We may lose by 28 on Saturday, but I for one prefer to make SC prove that to me on the field instead of
throwing up the white flag on the previous Tuesday. They play the game on the field and not on message
boards for a reason, and we all know that we have the talent on the field to win this game if we execute.

You are right wartdawg, I am one of the ones that feels we should just forfit the game rather than be embasrrased on the field. We have gurly and marshall last year, and they could do nothing against SC defense. I am sorry to be this way but from what I saw in the Clemson game give me no hope this weekend or against LSU. We have no D, we can not stop the run, and CS and their running backs will eat us alive, while our great backs will not even get out of the back field. Yes I am being very negitave, I am just sick of this program not being able to get over the hump. Most say who would you get to coach, who cares, are you happy with beating lesser teams a continue to lose to top 20 teams. I will be shocked and greatful if we win tomorrow, I just pray its not a beat down by 28 or more like last year.

Duck... I agree with many of your points, and I definitely feel the same pain.

I do not accept that we are reaching the full potential of our program and it frustrates me to
no end.

Even when we lost to Boise in game 1 like we did this year to Clemson, we came back and put
42 up on the Cocks... losing only by 3 because of some unbelievable mistakes. Despite those
mistakes.. it was still only 3, and a game like that can go either way.

I think the talent on this years UGA team is better than it was that year, and I'm not sure
SC is as good overall as they were that year. Last year was an implosion.. they were not that
good and we were not as bad as that game made it seem.

At the very least, I give us a good shot. Doesn't mean our aim will be true, but it's not
given in my mind that this game will be a "L".

No doubt in this Dawg's mind that we can win this game. We just have to execute with out penalties and turnovers. Our season is far from over. It was just back in 2011 when UGA started 0-2 only to reel off 10 wins in a row! We lost to SC and still made it to SECCG.

No, I don't want to have the same start. Just make it harder to get to Atl.

I actually think this game sets up well for us (odds makers must too).

Believe USC may be a little overconfident (SOS as well) and we are backed into a corner. We should come out scratching, clawing and fighting (at least you would think so).

I personally like that scenario.

I hope you guys are right, most on here know me, and know that I tend to see all the negative things about our team rather the any positive. Like I said, I am so disappointed in all the hype only to be let down again. Some keep referring to the past years of 0 and 2 yet still win the east. Well this year we don't have the cup cake schedule and SC does. We lose, and we will not win the east, SC has no one to play other than FLA. This games will go as how does AM, if he plays like he is scared, he will throw picks and fumble as he has done in EVERY BIG GAME, AND I MEAN EVERY BIG GAME.
