Go Dawgs!
From Athens-Gameday Friday # 2 was created by yankeedawg1
Good Morning All,
Like most of us I have spent this week replaying this past week’s game several times
Read all the posts here with many good points made
Thinking back I remember in the past posting about how I felt our football team was remaking the film Ground Hog Day
At times I feel we are stuck in a time warp that has us looking like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football that Lucy holds and pulls away at the last second
Then we end up on our butt
Looking back over the last three years how many games would we have won if we had just one more defensive stop?
Still looking at the same three years how many games would we have won if the offense had turned the ball over one less time?
Add to this mix special team blunders and untimely penalties
Coaching errors and I am sure more there are host of other issues that could be pointed to in causing our losses
This is not an effort to find excuses for our failures just to have a better understanding of just what in the hell is going on if that’s possible
If changing head coaches was the instant fix and cure all with any football team’s problem then no head coach at any level would last more than one losing season
The majority of our recent losses we have not been blown out
Is this a sign we are close to turning the corner? Just need lady lucky to become a Dawg Fan
Some have made it a for drawn conclusion that we have hit the slippery slope again after playing just one game
Repeat of Boise State mess with a loss to USC to follow?
Now is not the time for us to become less supportive as it will send the wrong message to our committed recruits
We all know that Gurley and Marshall are not smoke and mirror hype
IMO that can be said for a number of our current players
Like a good mystery there are many turns left in this college season
My plan is to keep my powder dry for awhile longer
I am as disappointed as any Dawg fan at the outcome and being 0-1
However in the big picture this week’s game is of more importance
Last Saturday night we had sand kicked in our face; they took our lunch money and kicked our butt
Once again players and coaches want to change the conversation there is one way to do that- win
I hope that Sanford’s crowd this Saturday can play as big part in the game as did the home crowd did this past Saturday
Vegas has us as a 3 point favorite
This makes me think they have an idea the game is not a blow out for CSS
More like the home team getting a FG and you pick’m
Gut check time for our Dawgs- Answers coming shortly
Time to call on Big Al –
Just win baby - I don’t give a damn how ugly just win
wlayton happy to have back, trust all is well
Pause and give thanks
Take time to thank a vet
Have a great weekend and a safe week
As always “Go Dawgs”

Good Morning yankeedawg1 . . . .
Big game tomorrow, see how much we have progressed in a week.
Read the article below, thought it might be a good read in the "Blue Plate Special". Lots of solid history affiliated with Georgia Football.

Good morning YD1 and fellow Dawgs, saw in the Macon newsrag that players and coaches are happy to have JHC in the game tomorrow. So are we. Interesting comment from CTG about JHC, he said in hindsight he wishes he'd used him in the Alabama game last year. We do too. Go get em DAWGS! GATA

Thank you YD1, much appreciated.....have to admit that I'm pretty surprised at myself for not being "on board" every day like the last several years. Just been busy doing a few other things.
Great post as always and love to start the FOOTBALL weekend with your Friday post.
Love all your points but one REALLY stood out to me when I read it.
LUCK.............all championship teams need a little luck when making a run. Even BAMA needs some luck although they create a lot of theirs. But, they certainly have had some during their reign.
Does "seem" like we don't get many breaks or much luck, does it? I'm a firm believer in the saying, "the harder I work, they luckier I get". Truly believe in that.
I think we are pretty good.....let's see how things play out.
YD1, since I was away for a little bit, 3 cool ones for you this weekend.
Everybody pull our beloved DAWGS through!!!
