Sherman Armstrong has been discussed on this board more than once. The following article goes into depth and really shows what a great hire this was by Georgia. Another coach added that in no way resembles the way S&C was conducted in the past.

JTII is to be congratulated for his willingness to "listen" to his hires.

Get to know more about a very important coach at Georgia, Sherman Armstrong. He discusses many parts of training, including the mind. Said it before, say it again, don't let this man get away.

Edit: Did not see the above being posted DWS, was busy reading the entire article. Tried to delete this entire post, apparently the new setup does not allow that. Not good. :(

For some time we have heard folks say that UGA fans get this way every offseason. Meaning, going to have a great team etc.

My thoughts on that are, why not? There comes a time after the season begins where the dreams of the fans are fulfilled or down the drain.

Will say this . . . . with all of the miscues in hiring coaches, pretty amazing we have one losing season under Mark Richt. When I look at the wins and losses with some of the staff that is no longer in Athens, appears to me that we must have had some pretty good athletes in Athens.

Personally think if the current group of coaches had been in Athens for a while longer, could not rule out a National Championship Trophy in Athens. Has been said more than once on this board . . . . we have always had talent on campus. Can have all of the talent in the college ranks, however there comes a point of truth . . . . have to have coaches that can move that talent forward. There are some members on this board that use the term coach'em up, that means a hell of a lot more that just typing something.

Believe I am one of the members that has touted Sherman Armstrong from the beginning. Might be because I am aware of the things he was accomplishing in the Tampa area. After reading the article about Armstrong, which by the way, he does not pull any punches, players recognize that Sherman is for real and it is not window dressing. Whatever it takes, keep this group of coaches together. Down the road, all of them will have resumes that will afford them the opportunities to fulfill their dreams. Those that control the money, like selecting from winning programs and attitudes. I definitely see a winning attitude in Athens, more so than I have witnessed in many years, if ever.

Can this group be beaten? Is a pig's butt pork? Does a cat have a climbing gear? Ball bounces funny sometimes, not round like the other ball sports, has this "funny shape". That is not an excuse, an example . . . . who on this board picked Texas A&M to beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa?

Means a lot to this old fart to have a group (coaches and players) that are dedicated, no BS. Lose while putting forth effort . . . . can always blame that on the coaching staff. :)

Think most of us know that there are going to be a couple of "surprises" coming our way. Base is built in this recruiting class, now the recruiters can pin their ears back and change minds or get the remaining athletes needed to enable this group to take another step up the ladder.

Go Dawgs, getting closer.

Edit: thriller notice the CAPS man is reading this board . . . . again.

Picked this paragraph up from above post. The link below just came out, interesting.

Buc - I've seen the criticism (and taken it from the guys around me) for always thinking this could be the year. Especially after 2010.

But I would like to know why that is such a crime? Is it because only Alabama should expect good things? USCw? tosu? I'd like to know exactly WHO should be ALLOWED to be optimistic about their next football season. Because honestly, I don't have a problem with ANYBODY, even teams with ORANGE in their colors, being optimistic about their team. That's kinda the point of supporting a team. I also think it's not unreasonable to be optimistic, given that our team was a CLOSE runner up to 'Bama last year. REAL close. I've heard people say we weren't as good as that game made us look, but I would say to that - we were a lot closer than Notre Dame.

Yes, I am optimistic about this year. And you know what? I also like that UGA is entirely under the radar. Let's let Bama and the Gay-tors and the 'Cocks get all the pub. I'm good with that.

GOOOOO DAWGS!
