yankeedawg1, good points all.
Guess the thing that really sticks in my mind is the way that Alabama has progressed under Saban. Reason I bring that into this blog, not only is their facility in Tuscaloosa outstanding, they continue to add on and in my way of thinking, making Alabama/Saban/Smart tough to contend with.
AM had his moment recently when discussing what he thought would aid Georgia not only practice wise, recruiting also. As you mention, young men today want more bling and chrome. Guess the coaching along with the facilities in Tuscaloosa bear that out.
yd1, another team that is moving along the Alabama game plan is none other than South Carolina. Been around a long time in this conference and for sure Spurrier can and will get what he wants in Columbia as long as he is there. He is treasured in South Carolina as is Saban in Alabama.
I am one that still misses the tracks, probably will never get over that change. Taking away the tracks and adding seats did move the numbers up in attendance. That was a revenue move. So, we have somewhere around 70 million or so in the till, and while improvements are thought to have been made in our facilities, still question some of the restrooms and other things that appear to need attention. Especially now that Mickey and Minnie are coming on board.
Very good point on Coach "K". A bit like discussing the railroad tracks, some things don't really need to be changed, especially when the existing product works.
Not really kicking up a lot of dust, I am however someone that wants to see us make that next step, and if it is money or whatever reason, just want to move forward.
As you say my friend . . . . This is and has been a hard nut to crack. Much like this board and many others . . . . football posting does not start until the Fall of the year. Football is primarily the reason that "most" sports blogs exist, and . . . . Mickey and Minnie continue to love us for that.
