Mickey and Minnie and SEC Football

Buc, that is a very interesting article, thanks for posting it. And it DEFINITELY covers me. When I was a student at UGA (30 years ago), you could attend the games for about $10 a game (I think - it was pretty cheap), so I attended every game. It didn't hurt that some guy wearing number 34 was toting that rock, too.

Today? There is NO WAY I could afford to attend a game. I don't care what anyone says . . . SOMEBODY . . . SOMEWHERE . . . is making a TON of $$$,$$$,$$$.$$!

And you are right - ultimately, it's Mickey and Minnie.

Thank goodness for AM/FM radios. I hope Mickey and Minnie never figure that one out.

thriller, Slive is described several different ways. Many really think he borders on genius, others would argue that point.

One thing that is truly missing when the student body is discussed and their attendance or lack of at Georgia games. Not only has the price of entering Sanford Stadium become prohibitive, the same applies to the price of admission in college these days.

That takes us into the discussion about young athletes coming in for the short term and leaving after a minimum amount of time.

Something that AM said made me stop and say . . . . what? While the football facilities in Athens are incredibly good, some of these folks want more and more.

University needs athletes, especially football players to make a lot of coin for the university. While the athletes are getting a "chance" at a super education in the field of their choice, they are now being told they should be receiving a salary. What is the next step? There is always a better weapon hidden in the closet that no one knows about. You having served in the military, understand that statement.

Truly what has and is happening . . . . College football administrators have "sold out" to incredibly rich corporations. Mickey and Minnie have the best legal minds in the world, making sure the product or situation they enter wins all legal battles.

Point in hand about money . . . . Entering the recent "recession" did we see products on the shelf decrease in price? I didn't. Did we see the price of admission to watch football decrease? Did fuel costs go down? Not from where I sit.

I realize that this thread is probably boring to many, it is however at the root of college football. There is more to college football than paying coaches exorbitant salaries. Like you thriller, enjoyed football as much or more back in the day.

This is the way that Mickey and Minnie work. Don't hesitate to cut anyone or anything off at the pass. Know many of you don't want to think in these terms, understand.

Buc does not have a problem with folks making money. Buc does have a problem with the M&M gang about to take control of SEC football. Not going to hurt the universites, or the head football coaches. Salaries will continue to get larger and someone has to foot the bill.

Where does Disney, ESPN and affiliates gather their money?

Notice there is a lot of silence when discussing possibilities like this.

What the heck, let's just keep reading the AJC and all of the media hype and BELIEVE that college football is for the fans.

Settle back in that recliner, or man cave, follow the leader, right? Our best interests are being taken care of by . . . . M&M and Slive. They truly care about how you and I feel about college football.

Remember this saying . . . . "Silence is Golden". Right Slive. Anyone that has been around this site for any length of time, go back and take a look at what was said a couple of years back about what Slive would and could do. It is now coming out, and get this . . . . As I (and others) said earlier, they don't want to release the information to you and I. Pretty picture for a year or two, when the "fix" is in after the two years, many will remember this conversation, and shake their heads.

Just saying . . . . again.
