Mickey and Minnie and SEC Football

Many think that the best way to go about this "business" of college football is to win. Can't disagree with "winning", do have a problem with what I think I see in college athletics when it comes to what "price".

All we have to do is go to "any blog" or "media" supported college football site and it comes down to this . . . . Same word used in the above paragraph, "price".

While I know that many are not listening, will say this "again".

Living in East Central Florida, I watched Mickey and Minnie take the Orlando area and turn it into a "gold mine" for Disney. Many of you make the journey down to this area . . . . EXPENSIVE? Same situation is just around the corner with Slive and the SEC. Remember this folks . . . . nothing is "free". Slive and his army are playing the "dollar game". They know that the path to the future in college football is simply this . . . . MONEY IN THE TILL. SEC is playing a game with you and I. Pitting the SEC against the Big Whatever. Both conferences have laid their plans out for the future.

Anyone that reads this post . . . . do you know what the leaders of the SEC outlined for the future of football on Saturday afternoons in the Southeast?

Using Slive's words . . . . "won't release that information just yet". Sound a bit like the IRS and others? Taking the 5th/fifth? I will take your money or contribution, but will not show you my spread sheet.

I have had many emails and one on one chats with folks that discuss the fact that we are now linked with M&M.

Watch the attendance in the "near future" dwindle in Athens. Saturday afternoons with friends change from tailgating to man caves in the home place. FOLKS, IT AIN'T GOING TO BE FREE. Might take a year or two, but the powers will get into your wallets and they know that. We love college football. Simple fact.

Won't apoligize for this post, just know that I have been around long enough to know that the changes in college football will rattle some cages, at some point.

A question for all reading this post and want to respond . . . . Do you like the direction that college football is heading compared to 10/20/30 or more years ago?

I for one do not like the direction we are going. It's like sliding down a hill and you see this big rock at the bottom with no way to miss it. Agree the future holds PPV games. Simple math which will bring in more dollars 96000+ or millions of households. Just like anything else in this world the rich will continue to get richer off the backs of the workers.

P.S. Glad to see you back posting Buc. I really enjoy reading your stuff.

Nope... don't like the direction at all.

I haven't liked the direction since about 1998 when the BCS showed up.

Darn sure don't like it now, and I'm not going to pay PPV prices just on principle... not because I can't afford it.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

In the not too distant future, when the higher ups begin to "select" the final four, going to be a situation that I can't use the words that I would like to on this board, or others.

College football is going to start another war between the states, this time around for a different reason or reasons. Will not be the North and South solely, it will be the entire country this time around.

Leads me to this . . . .
Who is going to decide the final four?

Ready for this . . . .
Disney is going to love this, the coffers will not only fill with cash, ESPN will become the major factor and control college football. All segments of college football, and that includes who will wear one of the final four hats.

Urban Meyer, now over his "sickness" is well positioned to have Ohio State in the final four, until Mickey and Minnie decide to have eight (8) teams in the ESPN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFFS. Might be that Michigan will be allowed in at that point.

This is going to be the forerunner to the NCAA relinquishing their long overdue underhanded rulings that actually had a hand in what we are going to see . . . . soon. Just saying.

Could say a lot more of course, will leave it there. Know there are doubters, and many that don't really care. Just human nature to play follow the leader. M&M love that.

Go Dawgs, coach'em up . . . .

Easy to say what I think I see going on in college football, especially the SEC. Surfing this morning and came across the article below. Some revealing percentages to the different questions. As has been noted in this thread, all roads seem to have the same destination, and the end of the journey appears to be in the M&M basket. Food for thought.

Some interesting responses to the article. Many or some are very accurate.
