AM Serving Notice, I Like It

Will just add another element to the offensive side of the ball. AM is tough and him running more can only be an asset. Hope he can avoid any injury but I tend to disagree now if he does go out, I think Mason can step up and with the talent on this side of the ball will not miss a beat. He can get injured standing in the pocket just as easy as running out of it anyway.....Our D will be good but lack of experience will show early in the season and anything this Offense can do to decrease the time on the field especially against the likes of Carolina, the gaytors and LSwho can only help us.

ogredawg, paid a visit to the VA Clinic in my area yesterday. Met up with "Greg" who is employed by the VA. He played for VD, got hurt, went on to the Marine Corps. Said folks down the way are beginning to understand what Grantham is all about. You and I have discussed Greg before. Still a solid man.

Some of the copy I read about JHC seems to be off point. Many bloggers seem to think you just walk on campus and play. At one time it appeared that way, no more, not unless you fit into the schemes. Belief is that JHC will be more than prepared for the NFL. Grantham is not only helping the UGA defense get better, he has a personal interest in JHC as a player and as a person. Greg said that JHC will light it up this season, I was fired up after talking with him, and believe what he said. Greg stays close to the happenings down South Georgia way and especially from your high school.

Back to the subject. AM has been to some camps that are more than weekend gatherings. Spent a lot of time with Mike Bobo and Mark Richt, attended the Manning Camp, now he returns after spending time with a quarterback guru coach in Oklahoma. Going to be interesting watching this group. Both sides of the ball.

Mason will also have a lot of tested talent to work with when his time comes. Have good feelings about our programs direction.

The things that AM learned from the camps and the other QB coaches will be passed along to the QBs under him, good things will be passed along by him. Selfishness is not a trait he has displayed since I've been watching him so I suspect all will benefit thru his desire to get better.

I agree that AM can get hurt staying in the pocket.....just want him to pick his spots when he takes off and get down or out of bounds. No need for him to try to do too much and risk getting hurt.

Imo, Mason is a good backup, throws the ball well BUT he is no AM. None of us knows how well he reads D's, can he check to the right plays/OL blocking scheme's etc etc. Much more now days to running an offense that just handing the ball off and throwing a few pre-planned passes. The knowledge AM has acquired over the last 3 years is invaluable imo.

Huge difference being on the field against the best conference in CF versus watching from the sideline and practicing.

Believe Mason will be good for UGA but imo if AM goes down, we will NOT have a chance to win the SEC.

Read a couple of articles today about the scrimmage tomorrow (Tuesday). Between the Hedges, these young men will get the "full load" from their respective coaches. Hoping that there is a log jam when it comes to naming those that will see playing time. Just a thought folks. :)

Have never heard Mark Richt refer to "speed" as much as he has with this upcoming group. Seems to have a smile on his face.

Allow me this . . . . Back in the day when Nebraska was having a bit of a hard time, their head coach had a talk with Bobby Bowden about how they could improve. BB said point blank . . . . One of the reasons that we do win is because of our speed. BB loved speed and it paid off for him handsomely over a long period.

Think maybe Richt and company might be on that same path. Soon we will see.

Today yankeedawg1 will probably hear the young fellows in "pads".
