Damn Gators Still Licking Their Wounds

11 years 10 months ago #51290 by Buc
Everyone on this board knows the depth of feelings between the Dawgs and gaytors. Below is a sample that some of us that live in the Sunshine State put up with 24/7 365. Quote coming from a Nebraska player.

Nebraska senior linebacker Will Compton feels like the Cornhuskers will get at least some support from the local residents of Orlando:

“Since we’ve been down here we’ve already had a few people walk up to us and say they hope we beat Georgia because they’re for Florida. You can definitely feel that rivalry down here.”

If for no other reason, Buc wants a win so I can shove it . . . . you know the rest. Still enjoying back to back wins and overall bragging rights over the slime balls. Next season will be no different, the noise will begin again when the Dawgs win in JAX. Listening Muschamp?

Fair is fair, Buc. We hate the Gay-tors too, and I always cheer for them to lose. My hatred for Gay-tors is stronger than my support for the SEC. Go Cardinals.

Know how you feel Buc! Living here in the Tampa area is somewhat good because the USF Bulls are here in Tampa and alot of people around here in Tampa hate the gators. But you got alot of gator fans around here with some my freinds growing up here are gator lovers, poor souls!:P

Don't think I'm going to the bowl game Tuesday :( I can't find anyone to go with me, my wife is working and the kid is out of town :(

Thought my Dawg fans/neighbors were going to be able to go but they can't so we'll get a party going here Tuesday morning for an all day Dawg party!:woohoo:

Feel sure that many of you have read this piece from the AJC. Really like the fact that at this late date Greg McGarity says exactly how he feels. Said a couple of times before on the board that McGarity working under Jeremy Foley in Florida, picked up some of his habits and winning traits. It will pay off for Georgia Athletics in the future.

TampaDawg, sorry to hear that you won't be in Orlando, however know that you are there in spirit. :)

Wow. Greg McGarity refers to some people as "The Society of the Miserable", does he? Interesting terminology.

thriller, that is the way business was handled by the gators (Foley). It was very evident when SS tried to return to Gainesville that the masses were upset that SS was put down. Foley ticked a lot of folks off, including Bull Gators (money) he however chose to go with Urban Meyer. Got a couple of good years out of UM, however in the end, UM basically stuck it to Foley. Two sides to every coin.

Regardless of what McGarity said in the interview, I for one am glad to see someone take a stance in Athens. Appears to me that he has Richt's attention. Who knows, none of us are going anywhere, Athens/Georgia Football good or bad, we are hooked.
