GATA Dawgs...

My biggest concern this week.... injuries. I hate to see back to back weeks facing those cut blocks.

Pray for no injuries.. See y'all after the game.

Go Dawgs

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Single biggest thing that is being allowed in every step of football (high school, college, NFL) is the damn cut/chop block. That to me is like getting sucker punched. I call it chicken spit.

Think about it for a minute. Richt/Grantham have one thing on their minds, GSU and the way their offensive line blocks. What a way to spend the next two weeks, preparing your team to watch out for that "sucker punch". That is where the SEC missed out on the game in Nashville. Kwame got the suspension for retaliating, not for a "face up" man to man, a chicken spit shot at his knees or ankles.

Paul Johnson and his friend at GSU are garbage. Can't make their systems work without playing on the edge.

Some on this board might not understand what I am fixing to say. Back in the day when Coach Bobby Dodd ran the program, it was first class. I pulled for Georgia Tech unless they were playing Georgia. Now when I watch the ACC games and see the crap that Paul Johnson teaches, makes me wonder what Coach Bobby Dodd is thinking.

Sorry Brothers, don't like unnecessary injuries, and coaches like Paul Johnson and those that he has surrounded himself with over the years don't deserve to be called "coach". Paul Johnson is a "sucker puncher". I am 72 years young and in pretty good shape and would face off with the likes of Paul Johnson in a heart beat. Believe that.

Go Dawgs, watch those knees, and if you get a chance and can point the finger at the one player on the other side of the ball that is being "nasty", and I mean "real nasty" . . . . . well, you know how those "sucker punches" work . . . . right?

Edit: If you folks have not read this article, think it is worth looking at.

One more thingy before I go to bed. Yep, some at my age don’t stay up until the wee hours of the morning (anymore). :)

Do not have a clue how these last three games are going to play out. By that I mean wins, losses, injuries, everything that comes with the greatest game played in sports . . . . In my opinion, college football.

Why I came up and posted this last little piece is this. I do like what I see coming from our coaching staff. It appears to me that the coaches have done or are close to doing what they ask the players to do. Become a team.

Unless our coaches do something really, really stupid, think I would like to see this group hang together. That is one thing that Nick Saban has been very good at, keeping the core group together. We should not forget that Richt beat Saban in Alabama early on. Saban knew it would take time, not a long time, but time to pull his coaching forces together. Remember his “chat” with Kirby Smart. Shows just how “smart” Saban was and is.

I believe that Nick Saban is going to leave Alabama and take the job with the Cleveland Browns of the NFL. That is his nature, move on and see just how much can be accomplished. He got his feet wet the first go around with the Miami Dolphins, now he is ready for the second coming. Don’t mean those words to mean anything other than being used as a football phrase. Believe that Kirby Smart will be the Head Coach at Alabama. There is a difference between an Urban Meyer and a Nick Saban . . . . Saban won’t leave Alabama in a lurch. Some think that Saban is a snake, not true, Urban Meyer the true definition of SNAKE.

Guess I have been going hard on the board today folks, sometimes I have to get away from the crap and talk about football. One and two liners sometimes hide feelings. Too damn old for that.

Go Dawgs . . . . :)

One last shot (maybe). Below is the win/loss record of GSU.

2012 Georgia Southern Eagles Schedule
DATE OPPONENT RESULT/TIME RECORD/TICKETS
Sat, Sept 1 vsJacksonville W58-0 1-0 (0-0)
Sat, Sept 8 @Citadel L23-21 1-1 (0-1)
Sat, Sept 22 vsElon W26-23 2-1 (1-1)
Sat, Sept 29 vsSamford W35-16 3-1 (2-1)
Sat, Oct 6 @W Carolina W45-13 4-1 (3-1)
Sat, Oct 13 vsWofford W17-9 5-1 (4-1)
Sat, Oct 20 @Furman W38-17 6-1 (5-1)
Sat, Oct 27 @Chattanooga W39-31 3OT 7-1 (6-1)
Sat, Nov 3 vsAppalachian St L31-28 7-2 (6-2)
Sat, Nov 10 vsHoward W69-26 8-2 (6-2)
Sat, Nov 17 @#5 Georgia 1:30 PM ET Tickets

Last count I had, UGA was in the top five of the best teams in the country (D1). Sometimes that does not mean much (Notre Dame #3, Florida #6 ??) Win by one will suit me.

Believe that it comes down to this, we like kicking GT's butt, but it is not like it was back in the day when they played football. Paul Johnson has ruined that program. TAM they are not. Guess the Techies are too smart to realize that they are being taken down the path. Hope Paul Johnson spends many years in Atlanta.

That's what makes the 2008 loss to GT so painful. We should be going for 12 in a row against these clowns. That is definitely one that should have never happened.

UGAChemDawg, I still have nightmares about that game. Believe that we have several coaches on the defensive side that are serious about winning, they do understand defense. WM in his cover two damn near the entire game against Tech . . . . c'mon man.

Those Techies sure are a smart bunch, don't believe it, ask them.
