AD5, totally understand and agree with where you are coming from......from the psychological side (underdog/favorite) to having the pro style offense.

I, too prefer KS for those reasons....he understands the league.

Always felt Patterson was so defensive minded which bodes well for this league. Does he run a pro style offense, can't remember?

Moot point anyway, CMR is here to stay, everyone should just accept it and hope he adjusts where he needs to and does well.

I put up that last post as a straw man. Hate to admit that. I just think our Notre Dame guy has a point - looking from the outside in - the number 5 team in the nation, SEC EAST Division (current and defending) Champions, BCS bowl contenders - has a coach on the HOT SEAT, with a .747 all time winning percentage and a current 9-1 record?!

wlayton is absolutely correct - no way does Richt lose his job. It's his to keep . . . or give back . . . BTW, think about that last possibility . . .

Having said all that - Patterson is not on my "half-serious" list because of his $3 million salary. To get him away from TCU would simply cost too much, and you can't be CERTAIN that you are upgrading. I agree that Petersen, even with a .910 winning percentage, is no guarantee in the SEC. And, even though I would like to see him get a shot at UGA, Kirby Smart is no sure thing either.

But the vagaries of college football are what keeps it interesting, I guess.
