Sir don't think an apology is needed, and could not agree more with your evaluation of AJC. Once upon a time I did some freelance writing for the mullet wrapper. Back in the day, people like Jesse Outlar, and of course Furman Bisher were the mainstays in print for what was a really good sports section.

Along the lines of growing up in the 50's, that was good, but the 60's and 70's had a lot more sizzle. Managed to have my share of fun through those years also. Back in the day when Atlanta was a safe and great place to party.

My first season tickets (1960's) were purchased through Mrs. Whitehead (think that was her name) in the North Stands. The train coming through . . . how ya gonna match that in any stadium. So much has been lost with the new ultra-modern stadiums that somehow don't have that nostalgic appeal. Little too glitzy for this old fart. Bourbon and coke . . . .what he said . . . . Enjoy both you and wlayton, keep up the good work and let us hope that this Dawg Defense comes through this year, could be exciting. Go Dawgs!

Edit: Back in the day there was the Atlanta Constitution in the morning and Atlanta Journal in the evening. Outlar with the Constitution and Bisher with the Journal.

Lets also remember that if we drove a bike / car / moped drunk on the wrong side of the road in the 50s the sheriff would just help us get home and tell our daddy.

All teenagers do stupid things. We just hope they are not the ruin your life type stupid things.

kentdaddy, had totally forgotten about that. Did have law enforcement do exactly what you posted. Time changes things. Some times it seems to me that we are moving just too dang fast. UGA has a lot of talent on campus and many more headed that way. I agree, let the folks have fun, blow it out at Homecoming, enjoy Athens. Just remember some of the things that we could get away with, cannot be done these days. Too much media out there just looking to bring the house down. Go Dawgs!
