Guess I am still hung up on conditioning. Appears that South Carolina is not in top shape or not as deep as some might think. I thought they were deeper, last night did not prove to me that South Carolina could/can back up all of the "weaker schedule" talk that Spurrier likes to spew when taking shots at UGA.
Watched Spurrier in the second half approach Lattimore and have some conversation with him. Can only speculate, but from where I sit, thinking he probably told Marcus Lattimore he was going to have to shoulder the offense, especially with Shaw having a banged up arm.
I truly believe that Steve Spurrier once known as a quarterback coach, has not proven in recent years that he can develop top flight signal callers. Quarterbacks that have an above average chance of making it to the NFL. While at Florida he had a couple of quarterbacks that went to the NFL, they however did not accomplish a lot. Appears that good defensive coaching schemes have SS back on his heels. What I witnessed last night from the quarterbacking department was not impressive once the leader was hurt.
Vanderbilt had SS in a quandry last night. Spurrier came really close to tossing his cap at one point. Stevie Boy, too bad you have such a rough schedule ahead, better work on some things that were noticeably out of kilter. Lattimore taking on the load like he did at different times last night, increases the chances that things could go wrong, God forbid. Don't want any football player hurt.
Also took close notice of the blocking schemes that Vandy used last night. They were not "chopping" like they did against us in Nashville last season.
If Vandy can hold South Carolina to 17 points . . . . wonder what Todd Grantham and crew might be able to do in Columbia. Don't think we have depth problems along the lines of Vandy, defensively or offensively. Going with thriller on this one . . . . get the Special Teams ironed out and this Red and Black group of 2012 might be scary.
Folks from what I saw last night, Vandy played with more enthusiasm than the higher rated South Carolina team. Need to be ready for Vandy in Athens . . . . remember, we have a score to settle, not necessarily point spread. What say you Kwame?
