From Athens-Our waiting is almost over

For some time I have been trying to remember who Jarvis Jones reminds me of . . . . Came like a bolt of lightening . . . . Patrick Willis who played for Ole Miss and now with the San Francisco 49'ers. Both care about their roots and when they are on the field, it is serious. Below is another article by Seth Emerson that I enjoyed reading.

Who says that good news reporting does not get attention, probably too true in most cases. Jarvis Jones as has been said more than once on this board and others, a special human being. Have to say this . . . . thanks to the powers that had the foresight to bring Todd Grantham into the UGA fold. Can't imagine where Jarvis would be at this point had Wille been the defensive coordinator.

Edit: Thought I would throw this quote in made by Mark Richt . . . . this is not the same Mark Richt that was the head coach prior to the 2012 season. Really believe that some of the antics of the "Dream Team" and others finally made the light go in Mark's head. Good on him.

Richt on improvement in backup offensive lineman Austin Long’s practices: “Maybe he saw the ship leaving without him, and he was, like, ‘Man, if I’m going to make it, I’d better get it done every day.’”

Basically the same thing he said to Jay Rome, little different, but it can be called getting a players attention. . . . :)

Happy Birthday Buc!

Speaking of peanuts, the peanut man in Waycross may have the beast I've ever had. Big statement but they are damn good!

Happy B day Buc....Been away awhile. back for another season.

JJ is going to be the reason our defense is bad news. He can't be moved. CTG and the defense are good enough to beat SC, and Bama or LSU in the SEC title game. My only concern is the Bobo factor.

Will we lose a game we shouldn't because on 3rd and 1 its a 30 yard down and out and we are forced to punt instead of milking the clock???

I hope we have it figured out on offense!

Go Dawgs.

With one week to go...WELCOME to the family TEX. A&M AND MISSOURI.

southernlover, sounds like you are a "caviar" man . . .

Had a bushel of green peanuts delivered to me from Hardy Farms via UPS this past Friday. Don't know if you boil peanuts yourself, but there is a very simple way to get these boiled peanuts quickly. And they are "damn good" . . .

I have several pessure cookers, do most of the cooking these days. Once upon a time we would pick the peanuts off of the vine, (I was born in Coffee County) wash them and then put in a pot with salt and boil. Took a while, (approx. 3/4 hours) according to how many were in the pot, but they were always good. Using a pressure cooker green peanuts are just as good and it takes 45 minutes to an hour to have peanuts in a bowl. Below is a link, believe in supporting Georgia products.
