I saw where Cordy Glenn made a pretty big splash at the combine when he turned in a 4.91 40 and benched 225 lbs. 31 times. Pretty good for a 6'6",345lb man, don't you think............ Build 'em up DAWGS

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

As usual Buc, GREAT analysis...and couldn't agree more with the Grantham assessment. Having Grantham's yin to Richt's yang has already changed the attitude throughout the program. Unfortunately I'm too young to have witnessed Erk's time in Athens firsthand, aside from going to one game with my dad when I was about the size of my son (the future bulldawg in my profile picture), but from the highlights I've seen and the stories I've heard, sounds like we've got some of his old fire back on the sidelines.

I'm all for huge surprises...especially the good kind, but forgive me for being in the dark a bit...I've been buried in work for the last month or so. What's the potential weekend surprise we're waiting on?

Mike this is all conjecture . . . . There is a chance that (this is my draw) Reuben Foster has been recruited hard by Tray Matthews, Shaq Wiggins and maybe a couple of others. You have probably read most of the talk out there that I have.

Brings me back to Todd Grantham again. Seems to be a hard coach for me to pull away from. Apparently Grantham had a serious sit down with Reuben Foster last weekend and Grantham and Reuben went through a lot of film. Supposedly Reuben is returning to Athens this weekend to meet with Mark Richt for a sit down. Mark had some family business to take care of and could not be there for the meeting.

Whether we get Reuben Foster or not, and I surely hope he commits to UGA, it makes me proud to know that regardless of Reuben being the #2 rated athlete in the country, Mark Richt took care of his prior obligations, whether sudden or otherwise and could not break them for the #2 rated athlete in the country. That impressed me.

On top of the fact that Mark Richt could not be there, I am impressed with the fact that Todd Grantham was, and apparently caught Reuben's attention enough to lure him back this weekend. Even if we don't get Foster to commit, makes this old Dawg happy to see a change going on with the coaching staff. I truly believe that Mark Richt is very comfortable with Todd Grantham, that spells success to me.

Offense, Defense, Special Teams and . . . . Coaching Teams . . . :)

Chief, Cordy Glenn is going to be one of the best guards in the NFL. Kid from Riverdale, Georgia, your dreams are fixing to come true. This also makes me happy. :)

Feel like some of you if not all have read the comments being made about Isaiah Crowell. Went from a young high school dude with all of the back slaps to college where those slaps are much harder to come by. Not saying he did not earn those back slaps in high school, he did. Made most of us on this board jump up and down.

Have to say this because we all reap what we sow. Apparently this young man has changed his "college" football lifestyle. He brought his "high school ways" to the college campus and basically turned off the folks that were so happy to see him in Red and Black. Me for one.

Now Isaiah has turned the corner, he is a leader in . . . . . can you believe this . . . . workout drills. The same young man that had to be pulled from his bed because it was time to work. Don't care how we classify his reasons for being more attentive, but will say this. Competition makes for a better football team.

Some might not agree with this statement, but will always speak my mind, what I think I know. Saban had Richardson sitting behind Mark Ingram and Richardson will probably go in the top five NFL Draft this year. Richardson could have played and started for any team in the country, he however trusted Saban and where he would end up . . . . NFL.

I think that what has happened to UGA football is this. The time for friends and buddies has passed.

If a young man has his sites set on the NFL, he needs to look the coaching staff over carefully, some universitites will get you there quicker if . . . if you have the right teachers (coaches) because they have the connections on the next level. Anyone that thinks that connections don't have a presence in college football, take a look at the turn around in Athens. Young men seem to be lining up to play defense in Athens.

Just saying . . . . Isaiah, time for you to be all that, hard offseason work is a part of that . . . :)

Malcolm Mitchell said:
“I don’t want to come off the field,” Mitchell said about possibly going three ways in games. “I will put in the work to make sure I can physically withstand it all. If I get the opportunity, I would definitely take advantage of it.”

Without a doubt, this is the single most team oriented paragraph that I have "ever" read coming from a UGA football player.

No wonder that Kirby Smart and others wanted this young man. When that type attitude finds it way through the entire UGA football team, then we can talk about bigger and better things. Should be hung on the wall at Butts/Mehre for all to read. Malcolm Mitchell continues to grow as "all that" in my mind.

MM understands "team play". :)

Edit: Then he says this.
“And as far as being a top receiver, I feel we have a lot of great receivers. … Of course if I play defense some of my reps on offense will be taken. But I feel we’ve got other receivers that can back it up just as good as I would.”
