Saw this and thought it very interesting. But I have to ask the question, IF we are putting top level talent in the NFL why are we mired in mediocrity? That may be exaggerating a bit, but i still think I know the answer.

We talked about this on another thread awhile back. Why do we put so many in the NFL and have not won a championship since 2005. I say it is the coaches, with the exception of CTG and maybe Friend, CMR and BOBO have no clue how to use the talent at UGA. We do not have a coach with the exception of CTG that shows that they can teach a kid football. I mean we get some great talent and based on their talent alone they become good players. If we had a coach that would coach them up as we have started saying, and get these players to believe they can win and win every game, then maybe we will get those championships.

I do think CMR is tring to change his ways, by bring back the mat drills, he seems to be serious on wanting to get these kids to finish the drill. Maybe we will see a difference in the S&C and endurance this year and just maybe we will do as everyone is expecting us to do. Only time will tell!!!

Look closely and you'll notice Chris Low ranked them by the percentage of those players that were non-ESPNU 150 prospects...meaning out of 120 FBS schools, UGA is ranked T-6 over the last two years for sending 16 players to the combine, 12 of which WERE NOT top 150 prospects coming out of high school. I'd say that's a pretty good job of coaching 'em up!

Not saying our coaches haven't made their fair share of mistakes/questionable calls, but if anything I'd say this is more a reflection of how many things have to go right in any given season in order to win a championship and how difficult it really is, rather than a reflection of poor coaching. Quite the opposite in my humble opinion.

Would be interesting to me to see how many of the invitees and the 150 crowd actually made a NFL roster. Comparison of the schools listed.

MH you hit on a very important aspect of each season. So much has to go right to make a run at a championship. It doesn't come along that often. You have to have the coaches in place, the players buying in, benefit of schedule, absence of injuries, and a couple of lucky breaks.

As I have heard before... the ability to catch lightning in a bottle. I hope we can do all the above. Go Dawgs!

Well I understand what you are saying, but as Buc stated, sending players to the NFL and making the team is different. I am not going to get into the same old discussion with some defending CMR. We have been there and done that. For me personally, CMR is not the coach UGA needs to win a championship. I have seen this program regress over the past 5 years, and if you think that just because ww won 10 games against lousey teams and have not beat a ranked team in 2 years that we have improved, then to each his own.

I am sure there will be some to come back and befend CMR, but I am done, I stated my opinion and will not get back in to the drawn out back and forth concerning CMR. My opinion is with CMR we will be where we are at now, win 8 to 10 games with no championships. This is my feeling my opinion and nuf said.
