Well Buc you really did it this time! And thanks for doing so. And I agree with growl - not an easy question to swallow. Many moving parts and pieces.
This is a forum of free flowing thought and information. I do not doubt that a single poster here does not love our university. Really great conversation and analysis. I have always loved debate, and like you Buc, have opinions I regularly express. I have always listened to others and respected their opinions as I hope they would listen to and respect mine. They key is to truly listen and if you can present an argument that will sway my opinion.......more power to you and thank you for the enlightenment.
If you will remember when I first came aboard, I posted a letter by a friend showing unmitigated support for CMR. I will not compromise my trust in our coaches character. I think that is what gets the recruits here in the first place. He is a shining example of how to run a program which does not teeter on probation. What I have began to question is his ability to grasp the brass ring and take the next step. Upon his arrival we won two SEC championships within 5 years. We have not been able to move past that.
To answer the question Buc, I think it is coaching. Does ours have that killer instinct to win it all? If not, he needs to surround himself with others that do. Like CJT ll, and CTG. I have seen the fire burn in CMR before. It just does not seem to do so when needed, for long, or on a continual basis. Can we have a mixture of St. Mark and Cortez?
In closing, I am not advocating the removal or sustaining of CMR. I am expecting to see improvement along with excitement next year. How we get there is up to Mac, CMR, and staff.
Go Dawgs!
