Ratings and Rankings . . .

Reminds me of pro football players. Season before the contract comes up, they are dynamite. Contract signed, check some of the same players out. Could fill this board up with names of players that get lost after the guarantees.

Looking at this last class, seems to me that Coach Grantham did a masterful job.

Will also say that Mark Richt did his usual good job of landing the "stars". Don't get me wrong, those two backs from North Carolina, great get. Felt the same way about the "great back" out of Columbus, Georgia last season.

However, where we slipped again . . . failed to get the men that make the lanes for those "great backs". Not just this board having things to say about the lack of offensive linemen, just hit the internet highway and see what is being said about UGA and lack of Olinemen coming to UGA, and of course all of the scholarships sitting in a pile.

As long as Saban is the head coach at Alabama, our chances of getting past Atlanta are slim. Guess I should be happy with the fact that a SEC team will be the National Champion, but I am not (totally). Also, I am not a dumb butt, I can look around and see what is happening in college football and while UGA is getting better, if you believe in ratings and rankings, check those out and we see that Alabama and Florida are rated higher than we are. Folks, Muschamp in beginning his second year. We signed how many this season?

We need to get rid of R.Garner that is the truth he does not do his home work he should no what kind of kids they are own and OFF the field.Look at all the trouble the players have gotten into the past 3 to 5 years.

Think this is the first time that you and I have disagreed. That is ok, just board talk.

Garner is the heart and soul of UGA recruiting. Once he or others establish the young man the university is interested in, Garner eight out of ten times is the first man in. Maybe that is closer to six out of ten times.

Coach Grantham loves Garner, and many thought that might be a tough relationship . . . including me. Grantham and Garner are the heart and soul of the defensive recruiting.

As far as "problem children" that is a hard thing to recognize, especially when the head coaches at the high school level don't disclose "everything" about a certain player or players. When Garner meets with these young men on their high school campus, he does not have a clue. Garner has to sort everything out after he has talked with the young pup. All of the information that he gets is relayed or related back to the folks at the Univeristy of Georgia.

I will stop, will say this, you and I are definitely not on the same page with Garner.

Edit: Nick Marshall was rated by all that knew him to be an absolute terrific player to cast his lot with UGA. There were not flaws . . . . . what happened? Garner, sorry don't think so.
