I consider this a serious offense. Depending on the circumstances, simple battery could be classified as a felony and punishable by fine and/or imprisonment. It could also come under the topic of domestic violence, since it was a girlfriend.

He is not a kid, he is a man acting like a kid. He should NEVER hit a woman. Since I have a daughter, I hope CMR doles out serious punishment. SC must accept responsibility, take the punishment, and hopefully learn from this mistake. Yes, we all make mistakes, but I do not buy the excuse that he is just a kid. Sorry, but this type of behavior is unacceptable.

Totally agree......wouldn't be surprised if she dropped the charges.

But there is a lot of people in Athens defending cummings. And it kinda feels like there some more investigating going on. With there being no comment from Sander Richt or UGA and how did he get out Saturday? Thought with those charges you had to go in front of the judge for a bond. And no visible injurys? I know what his gf/ex gf looks like she sat in front of me at the sec champ game little tiny girl if he struck her it would def leave a mark.

If he did it YES sit him out atleast the first two games plus the off field punishment with the morning runs etc etc.

Hitting, pushing, shoving or verbal abuse to any woman is wrong no matter what happens between a man and a woman! If she's smaller or bigger then him he can walk away if he's not dunk or on drugs. And he may be young, but he's old enough to know what's right and what's wrong!
