One thing I notice when watching bama, Richardson breaks arm tackles going through the line of scrimmage. He makes holes when there aren't holes. Our RB's for the most part, did not do that. The o line got better, IMO toward the end of the year, the RB's didn't. Saw some seems against lsu. Problem was, I also saw backs being arm tackled. Our rb's didn't do anything to help our o line.

Absolutely right. The only back who had any heart was Richard Samuel. I'll give him team player of the year award, has been shuffled around like a kid in a foster home but has never complained. I pray he has one hell of a season next year. Hats off to this fine young man.

Here's my thing. I'm not going to say BJ was "robbed". If I do, I am totally discounting the
ability of the center that did win the AP-AA vote. As much as I love Jones, I can't say he was
more deserving than the other guy who did get the honor. My homerism is tempered by more objectivity
than that. Maybe.. just maybe.. it's possible that the winner is a deserving beast. If so, it's
not fair to say Jones was somehow "robbed".

Agree completely with you on the RB's. IC has some skills and all that, but he doesn't often run with
what my coaches called "violence". Unfortunately, I don't think Richt has historically ever had
backs that "run with violence" in his lineup.

I felt Ben should have at least made the second or third team AA.

Musa might have been the closest....we he ran, it was all knees and elbows.....what I called a "reckless" type of runner, when you tackle him, you will catch one of those knees or elbows right in the chops, everytime.

Right on averagedawg. He will probably go later on in the draft, he however is one of those jewels that will make it in the NFL. Can still see him barking at Bean a couple of times this season. Young men like Ben Jones will be the reason that UGA gets its act together again. Remember too, he came under the tutelage of Searels. Just saying . . . . :)

I would agree. Reckless or violent.. whichever word you like best as that is what I meant.

The end result is runs for positive yardage when there is no hole, and defensive players
getting punished.

Back to the AA thing... I just don't let that stuff bother me much. I agree that I think BJ should
maybe have gotten 2nd or 3rd team, but I still can't say I know enough about those that did to
call it a highway robbery job that Ben didn't get it over them. Can any of us say with absolute certainty he was more deserving than the guys who did get honored?

I know what he was for us, and I know he will get a chance at the next level. I'll just live
with that, and move on.
