Happy to see Rambo and Jarvis Jones, first team AP All Americans.
Pretty angry to not see Ben Jones on the AP list.
Cannot underestimate the importance of Ben Jones to this team.

I think he was a victim of an overall average O line. As much as we know his value, he wasn't able to elevate the overall O line performance beyond mediocre. As solid as he is... and please forgive me.. I don't think he
was dominant enough to overcome what was an overall
non awe inspiring O-line performance. Shoot.. we had Jones and Glenn, and we still were average overall.

averagedawg, would hate to think where this years team would be had not Ben Jones been calling out the assignments. This was a patch work quilt type of offensive line, bringing in new and untested SEC football players, huge challenge. Sometimes the mental aspect of the game is overlooked by those looking for the physical side of the game. Not that Ben Jones "the grass eating dude" was not physical. He was and is that.

Think the players voted Ben as a permanent Captain of this seasons edition. Good enough for me, and apparently the team thinks along the same line.

Buc, Know how it works. Sometimes the shortcomings of a unit preclude recognition of the accomplishments of a player.
Without Ben, what would our record be right now?
I think Ben succeeds at the next level.

Yes, I too was unhappy not to see BJ get the recognition he deserves. He is the strongest link in our O line. Would hate to see where we would be without Ben.

Even though he did not make that list and not to take anything away from those recognized as All Americans....I propose we recognize BJ as "All World" as voted by people who really watch and know what is going on during a football game.

I think BJ knows where he stands.

Ben was robbed. That is a shame. I focused a lot on the o line at the beginning of the year. I think they matured into a pretty good group. One thing I notice when watching bama, Richardson breaks arm tackles going through the line of scrimmage. He makes holes when there aren't holes. Our RB's for the most part, did not do that. The o line got better, IMO toward the end of the year, the RB's didn't. Saw some seems against lsu. Problem was, I also saw backs being arm tackled. Our rb's didn't do anything to help our o line.
