Feel for CMR. Its hard to give up on a kid. It was for me. Never wanted to see any kid fail, but I hope CMR does remember this, you can't help kids who don't want to be helped.

Southerland was a great, hard nosed ball player. Could you imagine what he would have done to IC if he were lead blocking for him? I ripped Samuel as a running back. Never will again. I owe the kid an apology. Maybe he is not the best, or eye appealing, but he plays the game the right way. Would be damn proud to watch him pound the rock. Cause I will never have to doubt if he is giving his all.

GO DAWGS

AllDawgs5 so much of this post that I agree with, and would bet the largest portion of this board does also.

The University of Georgia and anyone associated with UGA football statewide/nationwide could not have given a more open hearted welcome than it did to IC.

My opinion coming up. . . .

Richt does not need to be spending a lot of his time trying to save this soul. Not being ugly. Richt and the rest of this coaching staff have enough hurdles ahead. Just how many chances does one person get. This will come back to haunt Richt if he wears the wrong hat trying to get IC to prove him right.

None of us like to be wrong in any endeavour, just know one person that has ever done that and he also had to work very hard, but some things he could not change while here on Earth.

If Richt and his crew expect to ever get on an even footing with Saban, Miles and others in this conference, he has to take a serious look at where his time HAS TO BE SPENT. Otherwise, if the calling is not there, then time for Richt to move on.

Don't need to have anyone explain to me what a good man Richt is, I know that, you know that. What I want to know is whether or not we can start beating teams like Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Boise State, and the list seems to grow.

Appears to me that we have gained a foothold on moving forward, beat 10 teams so far this year, don't care where they were rated, we beat them, we were supposed to. I want a head coach that is all about the University of Georgia. We pay the money, you and I, and should it not be expected that we have the same wonderful feelings that folks in Alabama and Louisiana and Florida and other states have at the end of each football year. Academically we have a great college, just something has to change with the "money maker" that supports a lot of what our school does.

All of the high fives this year are great. We, UGA needed that. Do we want something better, I would wager yes. How do we go about this? I have the answer. Win football games against top notch competition in the SEC, those are the bulk of the teams that we play, year in and year out.

Can Richt and Bobo and Friend and others on the offensive side of the ball take us to the level that other teams in the SEC are now, and have been for more than one recent 10 game winning stretch . . . . each one of us has to answer that individually.

As averagedawg said, Coach Grantham made some changes pretty quick, like two years on board with his defense. Like it or not, maybe LSU was toying with us, bet everyone on this board was proud of what Coach Grantham's defense held LSU to in the first half.

Just some thoughts that I have saved over the course of this year. Screw a two year plan.

Go Dawgs, coach 'em up! :)

Hey Buc......I never said anything about a 2 year PLAN. Simply that it may TAKE that long to develope our deficiencies before we become a LSU or a BAMA.

Do you think we can be as good as LSU or BAMA in 2012?....2013? Imo, no way next year but 2013?....maybe, if we get the REST of the pieces now and develope them.

How could he have won it over MM?????

How much flack will UGA take when IC is kicked off team?? Not that I want that to happen, but he is in my Dawghouse. He has to learn he is not larger than the team. IMO he has a whole lot of growing up to do and I don't know what all he will have to do to regain acceptance from team.

Overall though: Dawgs thank you for a good year! Looking forward to bowl victory and next year!

Good thread & I agree, very proud of the 2011 Georgia Bulldogs!!!

wlayton, IMO, the height of the Dawgs ceiling in 2012 depends primarily on 2 things:

1) Offensive & special teams scheming (will it improve, will it remain the same, will it get worse-UGGH)
2) Offensive line (Think we desperately need some IMMEDIATE help here from the JUCO ranks)

Goooooose......can't and won't argue with ya. My prior posts are aimed at WHEN will we get to LSU and BAMA's levels......imo, may take a little while resolving a couple of problem issues.

Won't disagree with either of you, but will say this...LSU came into the year thinking they were too young and didn't have a QB that could navigate their schedule...footballs bounce in funny ways sometimes.

There are some areas that need to be addressed, but the pieces are there and, from what I could tell, minus one or two stray souls that are still pushing back, the BIGGEST piece to the puzzle was solved this year...that being attitude and resolve. It's amazing how much performance increases when the mental state is right...I have a feeling we'll get BIG contributions across offense and defense from players that are on the roster now, but not necessarily "on the radar." Think Gilliard, Mitchell, Bennett, this year.
