Our Dawgs will not be bullied. There are some folks, especially on the defensive side that have a "streak of nasty" just like the LSU folks. Really like the fact that Grantham had a chance to play a lot of young pups at the linebacking positions. Not the fact that players got hurt, but that was the case and next pup up gained experience.
Looking around, most on the LSU forums seem to think that they will wear us out by the end of the third quarter. Meaning, we will be too tired to stop some of the things that they have done to other teams. Could be, however remember JTII working with this group of players and I can see the difference in how they played this year versus, take your pick over the past x number of years.
Anyone thinks that LSU won't be tossing the pigskin, don't believe that to be true. First off LSU knows that this is not a cream puff front seven or eight. This group is capable of putting their running game into third and whatever for a first.
Guess I am back to what wlayton and I have said about the offensive line, they are going to have their hands full. They are quick, play the 4/3 which leaves their defensive backfield well manned. Also have seen them line up with a three man front. Tennessee let Chavis go, wonder if they would like to have him back . . . off the subject a bit . . . .
Going to be difficult for AM to take long drops, LSU will not allow that. At this point can't really put a lot of comfort in our running game, would not be surprised to see a couple of our defensive backs in the backfield again, as was the case against Tech.
Looked at a lot of film, believe we have to hit the short stuff, Charles and White. Mitchell should keep his track shoes on, running deep each and every play, whether it is a running play or pass play. This young man has to be covered by a defensive back, most of us know who that will be, and a safety also has to have his eyes on what I would call a freshman phenom from Valdosta, now residing in Athens.
The offense has to make x number of first downs, giving the defense a chance to catch their breath. If that happens, this could turn out to be a very interesting game in Atlanta. Much more interesting than the national media are predicting.
Did not forget Michael Bennett, he will make a play in Atlanta. Always does.
13 point underdogs . . . . . love it.
