Plenty of things to pick apart from the game Saturday, BUT, in my mind one thing stands out...how proud I am of this group of Dawgs for weathering the storm when it was all on the line. I don't care if it's Kentucky or the Green Bay Packers lined up on the other side of the ball...winning in the face of adversity speaks VOLUMES about the heart of this team.
Our intent was to come into this game, pound the rock, wear down Kentucky and get out with a win and as few injuries as possible. All things we would normally be more than capable of, however, when you try to pound the rock without the top three running backs in your program, the deck ain't exactly stacked in your favor.
Like I said, PLENTY of things to pick apart in this game, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, BUT, today I'm choosing to celebrate the fact that we manned up when we had to and pulled out a tough victory against a team who had nothing to lose.
Easier said than done, but pretend this next paragraph is about a team OTHER than Georgia.
This "team" goes 6-7 in 2010, first losing season in a LOONG time. They come back, still only in the second year of a completely new defensive scheme and with question marks throughout the offense including lack of depth on the o-line, the receiving corps, AND the offensive backfield. They stumble out the gate against one of the most consistently high-performing teams in college football and then give one away with costly mistakes/turnovers to a team that hardly ever wins or loses to them by more than a field goal. After going 6-9 in it's last 15 games, this "team" rallies the troops, runs off an incredible 9 straight wins, and earns a spot in the conference championship for the first time in 6 years. How can you not be proud of a team like that?

Well said Mike Honcho! I did laundry yesterday & for the first time in 3+ years, I realized that I had an entire load of Red & Black UGA gear that needed washing. Guess you could say the 2011 UGA Football TEAM restored some of my wounded pride!!!
Going out on a limb here but I think wlayton is proud too
