The key thing is that you and the U.S.N. tried.
That's all you can do.
I pray IC will be one of those cases where there is success, but it's ultimately
his call.

growl one thing that needs to be guarded against is much like the young man you were hands on with. Even when he was on liberty, being shadowed supposedly, he had the capacity to get others to do the things he was doing. That is a sign of leadership, just leading in the wrong direction.
There are no set rules as far as I know that will make all young folks play by the company's rules. That is where positive leadership enters the picture. Some can, others can't. We had one back in particular that left us recently, loads of talent, everyone working real hard to bring him around. As soon as another top flight back came on board, he could not leave the campus quick enough. All of the kid gloves treatment just did not work in his case. Anyone can be "given" too much rope and the end result is what happened to the young man you posted about.
Never like to see anyone get manipulated, and that is happening far too much it appears on our campus. Don't care, or should I say, not my business what others are doing at their universities. My focus is on UGA, Athens and our football team. Soon enough we will see whether our policies are working or not. Here is hoping for the best, but I think I see some troubling waters ahead.

I'm afraid that Mark Richt and some of the coaches around him are going to have to make some hard decisions to keep things on an even keel. I don't envy them whatsoever. Its hard to know how hard to drop the hammer. I hope I am wrong and there is nothing to it and the rest of the season is all on the rise. Go DAWGS!!!!!!

I hate to say this, but I think IC is on a downward spiral. Like so many people who "claim" that weed is "not addictive", but for some strange reason won't stop using it, I hate to say it, but I think he'll only get worse. Look at Quincy Carter if you want a perfect example. There was a guy who wouldn't, I say couldn't, give up weed. Ricky Williams, anyone? The man gave up a fortune to go "find himself" . . . and smoke grass.
I've heard all I care to hear about how marijuana is practically a wholesome, life enhancing, non-habit. Bull.

It's technically not physically addictive thriller, but it's mentally addictive most certainly.
Many people however, do grow out of it. Some don't and yes you can point out to some high profile
examples but there are tons of people who smoked some grass in high school and college, but moved
on to productive non drug using lives.
Let's give him a chance. A short leash, but a chance. I'm not going to say he's on a downward
spiral.. I'm going to say he's at a crossroad.
