Now, let's take an opposite question to the draft. Who will be the lowest player taken in the draft that will be an outstanding pro? I say, hands down, that DL Thomas out of UF will be an outstanding DL in the NFL as long as he can stay away from the weed.
Now THAT's an outstanding question...considering where Tom Brady and Hines Ward and folks like that were taken. I think someone like Chad Henne out of Michigan has a shot...no one's talking about him, so he might go as a backup to somewhere with a line to protect him. Garrett Wolfe really hurt his draft status this season, but if he \"gets it back\" he could be All-World. And believe it or not, I still believe in Troy Smith. Say what you will about the Big 2 + 9, this guy was put into a lot of high-pressure situations and got through them all with flying colors...all except one. He can move, he's got discipline, he's got arm strength and he's got decision-making ability. It's not his fault that Tressel designed the entire NC game strategy around Ted Ginn, Jr. (or at least it appeared that way after Ginn got hurt). But let's face it: none of OSU's schemes worked without Ginn in the lineup. I'm not saying Florida would have lost the game, I'm just saying they may not have won by such a wide margin. Let's not count Troy out as a pro just yet.
And from the Dawg end, someone who may not even get drafted but will make an impact as a pro is Gordon Ely-Kelso. The only bad game I've ever seen him have was when his deep snapper was literally fourth-string. Long as he doesn't have the \"Billy Bennett\" attitude he should do just fine as an undrafted free agent.
