If there is one thing Saban has taught Kirby it is, coach to win, live to coach.
Smart is too smart to keep Bobo, friendships are irrelevant to winning.

duck, here are a few good reasons to somehow keep Grantham. This defense should get better every game played. The stats below are national.

•#1 in 3rd Down Defense
•#7 in Total Defense
•#8 in Tackles for Loss
•#8 in Rushing Defense
•#13 in Passing Defense
•#14 in Interceptions
•#17 in Turnover Margin
•#24 in Scoring Defense

The stat that is most impressing is the third down stops.
Gotta be pleased with our defensive improvement.

I'm going to say something that will probably be unpopular here...

I think CTG is great.. please don't get me wrong here, BUT..

When we are talking about Bobo, CMR, and our offense; people are quick to point out that we
have played very mediocre competition. When it comes to the defense and how well we've played
there; it's not mentioned quite as much.

I'm not saying CTG hasn't been a fantastic addition to our staff, but we haven't played the
most stellar offenses outside of Boise St.

That doesn't mean he's no good by any means as those defensive stats are great no matter what
the level of your competition, but I want to see how well our defense plays against a top
notch offense.

Hopefully we get that chance in a SEC championship game, and then we can truly have a benchmark
to see how good it really has become.

How did I know that there would be a post similar to Wartdawg's? It is a valid post and the same question seems to come up when Grantham's boys stats are posted.

There are teams out there that are rated higher and if we look close enough, we usually find out that those teams have better offenses.

When we look closely at where this defense starts defending, talking about field position, pretty darn impressive stats.

Watched this group against Boise State and South Carolina, this is not the same group that teed it off at the beginning of this season. Grantham is quick to say that there will be further improvement with this group. At this point, I have to believe Coach Grantham knows his business.

We will get tested with Auburn, no doubt in my mind. That might be the team we play that determines just how good we are defensively. Get past Auburn, might get the true test with the winner of this week's contest between LSU/Alabama.

Anytime we can applaud efforts made by the offense or defense, proves that we are not standing still, as was the case with Bobo/Martinez. Feel that Coach Grantham and his crew have made believers not only of some fans but the participants that wear the gear.
