Hey I'm a believer Buc, I really am....

I just wanted to throw the obligatory devil's advocate post out there, as I know some
are thinking the same thing. While I am a huge believer in Grantham, there is a grain of truth in the contrary position that we all need to consider.

I heard someone say a couple of weeks back something along the lines of not wanting to see
us make the SEC championship game because it was going to result in a humiliating defeat at
the hands of 'Bama or LSU. I disagreed vehemently because at the end of the season we
need to see just where we truly stand stacked up against the best.

If we can just get there, I relish the opportunity to see just how far we've come even if it
means we might get crushed. We need to see where we really stand in order to see where we
need to go. We need that game for this season for sure, but we also need that game to
evaluate where we are versus where we want to be moving forward next season.

This defense is getting better each game.....they took the game off against Vandy and learned from that mistake......I do not see that happening any more.....this defense is getting pretty close to being what LSU and Bama put on the field......we are one year away from being the dominate D in the SEC......it takes about 3 years to get the D where it needs to be and it is pretty close to being there.....

Which is what I want to prove against one of the big boys from the West division.

I think our D would match up against any offense in the SEC.....but if we do happen to play for the SEC Championship and that is still a big IF against either LSU, Bama or even Arkansas, our D would be tired out by the end of the 3rd qtr from being on the field 2 much.....our Offense would not be able to move the ball on any of the above listed with the exception of Arkansas and thier D is not really all that shabby.....

Gentlemen, this is good "stuff". I am enjoying reading different posts and it seems that most are coming from the same direction, no sucker punches.

I remember the post well, think there were some feelings a bit frayed in that thread.

One of those Lowndes County fellows that played the game and knows the game. While we might not be the best D in the SEC, we will be a team that has to be taken seriously when game planning. This thing between Alabama/LSU/Arkansas and maybe one or two others is not going to slip much in my opinion. Saban still pulling a lot of talent out of our state, as are the others.
