thriller, have said it before, sit with a couple of folks down this way that have been in the "arena". Also a couple of folks that have not been, but do understand and write about American Football.
When I listen, which I try not to do this time of the year, scares the spit out of me. They don't talk loyalties, they talk straight football, ins and outs. The concensus goes something like this . . . much like last year, it will probably come down to a turnover or a couple of bad calls.
The part that bothers me is the "bad calls". These folks are middle of the road when it comes to football, and they are damn good. The "bad calls" are not from officials, these gentlemen are talking about field position and play calling.
One of the gentlemen said that if the Bulldogs (does not call them Dawgs) had an offensive line with one more second of protection, this team could well be undefeated. I questioned him on that, and he took me to school on the one second. Hear this . . . . he said if the Bulldogs had one second more on the offensive side of the ball last season, Auburn would not have gone undefeated.
Go Dawgs!
