One positive from Saturday...

We keep complaining about Richt playing not to lose.

He seems content to turn it over to his D to preserve victory.

If we win, CMR/Bobo offense put up 33 points. If we lose, all of a sudden "the D couldn't hold them"
after the O had us in the lead late.

He seems content to put the onus on someone else. CTG wasn't his guy, so why not try and shift
the blame his direction a bit if we lose. Many seem to support CTG, so let's put the onus on him. If it works, we win... if we lose, well it's not the fault of my boy Bobo! Bobo (my boy) had us up before Grantham (everyone else's boy) lost it!

That's the cynical view.. I grant you that.

The non cynical view such as it is still amounts to CMR knows his 5th choice CTG and his defense are the best thing we've got going and what we better be doing is depending on him to come through at
the end, because lordy knows our O isn't going to take care of it themselves.

So why are we not ripping on CTG and his defense Saturday night? Well because even our HC knows
that's the best thing we've got going, and our main hope of success. That is where this team
is trending upwards... at least at a better pace than the other side.

Man, talking about a "conspiracy theory"........this is getting ridiculous.

I don't talk as negatively about CTG and our D because CTG and our D have done something to deflect
a lot of criticism.

One thing we seem to forget is that CTG's D, is CMR's D also. So whether it was CMR's 2nd choice, his 5th choice or his 10th choice, he still chose CTG, and the D is playing better, but CMR still plays a role in recruiting and I am sure he is aware of the Defensive scheme and has meetings with CTG about the game plans for each game. To think otherwise is not wise.

Richt deserves the criticism, but he also deserves some credit and has been getting some. I am not one who thinks we are all negative on this site, but the temperature for firing is pretty high right now. Especially for a team that is 5-2.

To me one of the big differences in this team compared to last is: Last years team would have probably lost that game. How many close games did we lose last year. Instead, they held on and won a very UGLY game. They didn't deserve that win, with the way they played.

How many ugly games did Auburn win last year?

I am trying to be realistic with this team. The OL is way below avg. I think the coaches are aware and are trying to recruit to help that defiency. This is only the 2nd year of the 3-4, there will still be some hickups on D.
The ST were AWEFUL... Whoever coaches ST, needs to be flogged, that was AWEFUL... They have been below avg all season as well.

I am not drinking Kool aid. Just watching and waiting, and wanting the DAWGS to win another game in two weeks, and crush some gaytor.

WD, what a great point about the D and CMR did hire CTG, therefore it's CMR's D as well. It is only fair that you pointed that out since everything is the HC's responsibility. Lord knows CMR gets all the criticism (even losing the USC game), he hasn't received any kudos that I've seen for the D except from you pointing it out.....interesting, huh WD??.....and convenient.

"Man, talking about a "conspiracy theory"........this is getting ridiculous. "

Yes it is ridiculous.

Hence the fact I stated that it was an overly cynical point of view and then went on with a more logical view: That being our D is our saving grace so it's fine to rely on them to secure the game. I said it
was a very cynical view point, and I knew it when I posted it.

I did that mainly to illustrate why we are not giving CTG and the defense more grief for Saturday night.

God Bless and Go Dawgs
