Does CMR not understand that? I often wonder, what in the hell is our offensive identity? I guess it's tough to have an identity w/o a solid Oline but jeez, I think it's obvious what wins games in the SEC & it ain't changed since CMR first arrived in Athens, GA. Establish a solid running game, eat clock, wear down opponents, etc. On Defense, stop the run, punish the ball carrier, & force some turnovers or short fields for the offense at a minimum.
Obviously it's easier said than done, but to me, it's really that simple. We get the Running Backs (always have, always will), we get the Quarterbacks, we get the Tight Ends, we've been better at getting the Wide Receivers lately, so it is pretty obvious what's been missing IMHO. We need to get some seriously nasty O-linemen like Brandon Kublanow (class of 2013) in here ASAP! In the meantime, I really hope we go heavy on the JUCO route to get some IMMEDIATE help for the 2012 season.

Goose, Brandon Kublanow is going to be one of the best centers ever to wear the Red and Black. He is one of those nasty Cobb County folks. I say that with respect.

We've got plenty of offensive identity. In fact, I think we have 3 or 4 of them.
Oh wait.. you probably meant just having one... that will work consistently in the SEC.
Nevermind.

wlayton wrote: Agree with your assessment MH......looks like CMR only knows how to assess and recruit the skilled players. Maybe he will leave the OL recruiting to Friend from now on like it looks like he's doing with Grantham.
wlayton . . . Brother you hit the bullseye with that post. Said somewhere in one of the threads that I think Friend is the man. Leave him alone and let him do his thing, recruiting and coaching.
Who on this board would have truthfully thought that our defense would be this good under a second year coach. Know we haven't played lights out yet against a really good team, but Grantham's bunch keep getting better. Loving this depth thingy that is building on the defense.
Come on Friend . . .
