I think CMR and staff have done an acceptable job on the QB side. That area of the team is
pretty low on my list of areas of concern. They certainly haven't done badly with the guys
they have been given. JTIII never had it, and Cox was an average guy who performed averagely
on a team in some degree of disarray.
I think what we have mainly done at the QB position is recruit extremely well. I'm not really
ready to say CMR and staff are some sort of QB geniuses or anything because I have no
evidence of them making an average player an above average one, but no one can say they've
ruined any can't miss prospect at QB either.
The two main players we can judge are Stafford and Murray.. both showed up quite a bit above
average, and impressed people from the very first games they played. Mel Kiper said Stafford
would be an NFl #1 pick during his freshman season. That means he showed up already pretty
darn developed. Murray also showed up way ahead of the curve.

Think both MS and AM won the Elite 11 competition in California after their senior year.

I believe there are four things that make a great quarterback. God-given ability, someone to catch the ball, good protection (provided the QB can throw the ball), and a running game.
Over the past few years most of our QB's have had damn good RBs, WRs, and TEs. I can name at least 20. The one thing we have lacked has been the O line. It has not been terrible just needs a little something else. That will get to elite status IMHO.

I suspect Murray will NOT go via the draft like Stafford. Moreso, I believe Murray is more apt to follow Greene and not find much, if any success at the NFL level! That being said, why NOT begin to work with the existing talent, beyond that which is afforded during practice?
