I also saw the onside kick coming. If I can see it, why can't the coaching staff and the players? Does no one at UGA understand momentum?
We actually tried to air it out with 1:30 to go in the half......it cost us 6 points. Three incomplete passes and punted......they returned it for a TD.
They tried and didn't sit on the ball......naturally that was probably THE time to actually run the clock out and go in at halftime 24-7.......imo, bad decision, didn't need to score again in that situation, 24-7 is a clear butt whippin in the 1st half.

Seems like a lot of negative comments for a win. No, we didn't dominate like we could have, but we played base football and got the win. Didn't have to show anything special, or pull out any wrinkles. Save them for when you need them.
Overall, I was decently happy with the win. Ole miss scored on 2 trick plays. Yes, they were good calls. Not going to rip the staff. It kind of seems that any time another team hits a big play and has success, it is always the coaching. Teams in the SEC have talent. They are going to hit some plays and score some points. That is just part of it. Not a Bobo fan, but I thought he called one of his best games. Not sure how many plays he called because watching the first half, it seemed I was watching the play calling from the beginning of the Richt era. I thought players were put in positions to succeed which is all I ask. If MB catches that ball, which he should have, we don't kick the field goal. Then, the swing route to IC. If he catches that ball, he might still be running. Very nice calls. Players make mistakes. That is part of it.
CTG, great job. Shouldn't have been hard to stop ole miss, but he still made sure they never got anything going.
We beat a SEC team by 2 TD's on the road. Could have been worse, but when you miss 3 FG's and drop as many balls as we did, you usually don't come out of SEC play with that kind of win. I am becoming a little concerned with Walsh, missing kicks that average kickers make. He has so much talent, just needs to focus in a little more. The missed kicks sat. did not cost us, but he missed a 39 yarder against usc too.
I don't think anyone in the locker room is happy with the performance, but all in all, it is a win. I am sure the team knows they didn't play great, but good teams find a way to win sloppy games. Interested to see how they play this Sat.

Hopefully Walsh gets his groove back soon.
He kicks the FG in the SC game and it might have been a different story.
Mississippi State, 0-2 in conference play, backed in a corner, we better bring our A game.
Always good to win.

Up 11, and getting the ball to start the half, I felt it was a good decision to sit on it. Ole miss had the momentum at that point, get into the half and let them remember they are down by 11.

AD5, this is just a stab in the dark, but I'm guessing the negative comments wouldn't be as abundant as they are if Ole Miss hadn't lost to Vandy 30-7 the week before. When the new bottom-feeder loses by 23 to the old bottom-feeder and we then go out and put up a less impressive victory, I think it compounds what negatives can be taken from the game. Bottom-line, at the end of the year the only thing gonna matter is the "W" on our side of the column.
