Good Morning All,
We waited until week three to play our punching bag opponent.
One could make a case for having played them first before taking the big step and playing a ranked team.
Hindsight never wears glasses. I am “OK” with the order we played the first three games, just not the results for two of them.
We came out of last week’s games with what we needed. Play a bunch of people and no major injuries. We have several players who will be beasts in the very near future, yes before this season ends.
Many folks have made comment here it that it was little better than a high school team that we crushed.
There was comments made that the beat down was not good enough, as we didn’t record many sacks on their QB.
Just might have been that CTG did not want to show our revised Stunt & Blitz packages until we play our next SEC opponent?
We still did not let them score playing a vanilla “D”
CTG has replaced CMB as the coach of the week that some doubt his coaching ability.
My comments to them is watch and learn. We will visit this subject again at seasons end and check the stats. When Tree and Robo return it will help the cause greatly. We will then know if CTG is a faker or shaker in year two.
I have an idea were the house money goes on this bet.
We need to continue to improve and use the Ole Miss game as a tune up for our next big test against MSU the following week.
Dawgs need to pickup and continue were Vandy left off.
Play with the same level of confidence as we did last week against CC.
I sense a great deal of jawing is coming our way about Dan Mullen and the wonders he has worked at MSU.
I am looking forward to round two of CTG and CDM here in Athens.
My dime says MSU is the best team left on our schedule this year. Having the game here in Athens is huge.
Wlayton and others have stated here “No more excuses from coaches, players or fans”.
For the rest of this season - Play –improve – win
How we play these next two games will give us a sense of how much “Real” improvement has taken place.
Something to ponder over your Cheerios this morning:
1-GEORGIA is a combined 0-5 against Top 25 teams in 2010 and 2011
2- GEORGIA has lost 10 of its last 12 against ranked teams. (2-10 record)
3- GEORGIA is now 15-14 in his last 29 games
4-GEORGIA is 6-10 in the past 16 SEC games.
5- GEORGIA is 3-5 in their last 8 games going back to last season
6- GEORGIA has won 1 of it last 4.
I borrowed the above from the AJC and did not fact check, however it seems to smell correctly!
As Buc would say: Only one-way to change the conversation and these ugly numbers-“Just Win Baby” (sorry Al Davis)
Can we win back to back? - Whoa Nellie – damn, can we even think it?
Looking forward to a Saturday night victory feast, enjoying a “Bucket of Suds” and chase it with some shrimp.
I will be sure to toast the brotherhood!
Pause and give thanks
Have a great weekend and a safe week
As always “Go Dawgs”
Go Dawgs!
