What Todd McShay Says About UGA's Coaching Staff

13 years 6 months ago #38706 by dapolla
Check it out around the 16-minute mark. He's saying what all of us have been forever. Why hasn't anyone in Athens seen it yet?

The gist is that Todd McShay has been frustrated for the past two years and into the BSU game with the one-dimensional "overcoaching" of what should be star talent. According to him, we have far more talent than anyone else in the SEC East, and more than Boise State, but our no-run, pass-obvious offense we don't give opposing defenses much to game plan for. In his words, "If [UGA is] not going to do this, then they'll do this." It's easy to beat us because all you have to gameplan all week long is a pass rush. Also, Aaron Murray's holding on to the ball too long.

great stuff.

i heard former C Russ Tanner on the radio this morning. His anger in the BSU was at the offense. When asked about the defense, he wasn't mad.

He has a friend who is the DC at Tulsa. Guy told Tanner that last season when Tulsa played BSU, that during pregame warmups, Kellen Moore and his WR's ran pass plays where Moore was blindfolded--and still hit the money.

His point was, if you go back and look closely at the tape, our rush was closing in on Moore (and other QB's would have panciked), but Moore may be the best in football.

he thinks if the defense plays the same against SC, it will look much better.

Just tossing out what he said.

BS...couldn't agree more with what Tanner said. I think the only reason our defense struggled was because of the horrible field position and the lack of rest time our offense gave to them for most of the game.

This is one of the reasons why you should always be around dapolla.

A lot has been said about us (the locals) being full of ourselves and not respecting UGA football. Like Todd McShay or not, he puts a lot of time in analyzing football teams and players. Brothers and Sisters, he did not mince words about the coaching staff.

McShay only repeated what kentdaddy said six years ago. Soon after that or at the same time sadlerdawg nailed Bobo and has not let up. Guess it goes to what Richt said. Paraphrasing . . . We don't wear the uniforms in the arena, and he knows what the hell he is doing.

While each of us or some of us on this board may scream and stomp our feet and never be listened to . . . . I promise you that Richt/Bobo/Bucky and others heard what was said by McShay and others that hold loftier positions. That also should include McGarity, and Adams.

Still think that Richt is finished at UGA. If not, watch the growing number of empty seats in Sanford Stadium and the less coverage from the networks.

Just leave, especially Bobo. Don't want him as a quarterback coach, don't want him in Athens.

Thanks for the post dapolla.

Had a chance to speak with one of the old locals and he has word that Mack is marking time with CMR. Mack was none to pleased with this past weeks effort. Mack had to juggle to get us the opportunity to play top 10 team. The plan was to put UGA back on the football map.
Best laid plans of mice and men. Shot to hell in a hurry.

Mack does not wear egg every well. This week CMR's hot seat went from being on pilot light to having the burner light up. Notice not much has been heard from our AD at this point.

Have agreat weekend- "Go Dawg"
