Good post yd1
Ill say this. I just want to be as consistently happy w/ the defense, as I am when the O scores a TD.

All great posts, thoughts, expectations and excitement is shared by all.
I, too, am excited and have higher expectations from CTG but........I'm a "prove it to me guy". While I expect the D to be much better, I by no means expect the old days just yet. Believe we will still struggle on D and I want to see evidence that CTG is going to be the MAN.
Cautiously optimistic.......very cautious.

I think the defense will surprise some folks this year. I believe with the right personnel and another year in the system not to mention they're hungry after that bowl loss. Another reason I'm optimistic is the change of attitude/culture at UGA. More discipline = awesome, but also how they're talking about loving Georgia and taking pride in the "Glorious G".
The S&C is a big point too, esp. bringing in old players like Thomas Brown amd Tony Gilbert to show them what it means to be a Bulldog. Also, it seems like for the 1st time in 3 years Richt is getting that fire back in his belly. He seems like his old self as of late.

Hey Yall, IMO I think for the D to have the success we need them to have in this first game is, Theu MUST come out First series and Smack that BS QB. in the mouth, or Put him down HARD on that Hard GA. Dome Field!!! Get his attention early that this is going to be ah physical game and this is a field that he isnt gonna want to feel again. Get in his head early make him hurry.

Totally agree with everything that has been said. Let me be clear about that...
Love all the enthusiam, play for the "G", working out harder, in the system another year, more fire, different attitudes in players and coaches.......totally agree and am stoked about it all.
Part of my "show me" is this........CTG has to scout and scheme every opponent, call the right D plays to get our players in the right positions, manage the game with down and distance etc, motivate, have the right combination of players in the game at any point during the game, make quick.....quick on the spot decisions and changes......etc etc
Gave him a pass last year because of the new scheme and lack of player personel......NOW......show me you CAN coach in the SEC, there aren't any excuses NOW.

OldSouthDawg: Man you hit the nail on the head. Come out strong, pumped, and viscious. Force a 3 and out and show them that in order to beat you in your state, they'll have to fight you tooth and nail to earn a win. Like Shakespeare said "Cry havoc and let slip the DAWGS of war"!
wlayton: I couldn't agree with you more. It's time to put up or shut up. No excuses this year. I loved how pumped and fired up CTG was the 1st game, then he kind of quieted down during the year. There has to be a coach on the sideline to keep these young men focused and motivated.
