From Athens - "Mars Week"

I think what i am seeing on this post is that we are all saying that "no more excuses; we have the big DL now, we have a hitter at LB in ogletree, we start3 seniors on the OL, we have three very good TE's, we may have the best QB in the SEC, we have an easy schedule by SEC standards, our hardest games will either be at home or neutral site: UF, SC, Miss stae, and BSU."

No excuses. Win.
For me, 10-2 is the cutoff.
0-2 to start is not an option for me.
Losing to UF is not an option for me.
If we lose to UF and SC again, then CMR needs to go. bring in Chris peterson, Dan Mullen,
Kirby Smart or John gruden.

PS: I'm jacked up about BSU-I'll be at the game. been doing "two-a-days" getting ready for the season (as in two beers a day to get primed for the long haul of the season)

BulldogShannon, only thing that might be missing in your post is . . . . great kicking game. That my Brother can make the difference in returning to Athens from Atlanta 1-0.

Just being cute, sometimes too hard to hit all of the necessary parts of the game in a post.

SEC . . . kicking game. Always worth 1 or 2 close calls on the win/loss ledger. Remembering Florida and Grantham with the choke message sent to Henry from the sidelines.

Many good parts to this 2011 team . . . . Coach Them Up! :)

Brothers and Sister (gagurl1985) thought this might be the place to insert this. Mentioned Ramik's talent on this board a couple of times. Down this way, we are very aware of his talents and he will get after you. Really like the following comment coming from Mike Gilliard on our first full pad day.

Gilliard on freshman inside linebacker Ramik Wilson: “He’s a hitter. I can tell.”

After we lose Jarvis Jones, we'll need a hitter. I really miss Erk Russell, with his bloody forehead. When I was a kid he used to scare me, and I was 2/3 of the way up in the stands on the south side near the 35 yard line. That was a great place to sit when it was hot out, and cold as Siberia come late October. I loved it. I miss it too.

thriller, I really get my hopes up when we have what appears to be a solid, maybe even nasty bunch at linebacker. I know how good Ramik was in high school, understand it is not the SEC, but he played against some very good teams.

Ramik does understand the 3/4 system, has not had the time in grade that the leaders of the defensive side of the ball have, he however is not starting from zero. The encouraging thing to me is knowing just how good he is, and yet, there are those ahead of him that are very good. Ramik reminds me of Ogletree, plain and simply a bad ass. Try not to use language but can't describe him any other way.

Guess that I am partial to defensive football, have always known that if the other team cannot score, we don't lose. SEC has always been defensive for the most part and it proves out in the end that the SEC is the best football played in the college world. Yep, I compared him to Ogletree. :)

Now it seems that we will have Jarvis AND Ramik! Can't wait to hear the impacts!
