Not why I posted. When I first came on this board you mentioned Douglas, Georgia and some of the folks that played in that area. You still chasing the white ball?
Hey Buc, you are right....I remember talking about Douglas. In my younger years I played against Lynn Lott and Larry Hinson, who both were on the PGA Tour. I battled Lynn in HS championships and many times in the Okefenokee Invitational tournament (he won one and I won one). Both of them were great players. There were MANY great golfers in south Ga. and especially in Waycross (my home). My brother was co-captain of the UGA Golf team and another Waycrossian, Al Tyre NEVER......NEVER lost a singles golf match in his last 3 years at UGA (couldn't play varsity as a freshman then). Lot of great, great memories growing up in golf.
I still play about once or twice a year with clients......in the late '70's, early '80's I got hooked on racquetball and played competitively on the national scene for 30 years (US National Championships, US Open etc).
I may start playing a little more golf now with my twins......maybe just instruct them so they can take care of their old man one day. Great sport...helps you meet a lot of nice people......and a great "character builder" for sure.
