Good Morning All,

I know it seems since the first of the year I always start out with it was another quite week in Athens.

We can’t after recent history speak out in favor of it being quite on campus to often.

Quite does not mean there isn’t any work being done, in fact more work and less talk has been the banner since Mack arrived on campus.

Make no mistake the plan is to make noise, make that a lot of noise on the field come fall. You want to see Sanford rock we just go out and beat the snot out off USC and SS. The sweet sound of the chapel bell will ring with a renewed fervor.

Call it attitude or demeanor maybe both but CMR is conducting business different this year. Going 6-7 and having an AD like Mack will tend to get your attention and focus. I sense that there has been many in depth conversations among the members of our football coaching staff about what changes going forward that are needed to get back to playing Georgia football and winning.

The players need to be coached up and the staff needs to show unity about how to get this done.

Without question in my mind CJT -Father Joe is the binder that has led to putting traction back under the wheels of our football program.

He leads by example and shows his passion for Bulldog program every waking minute. Player and coaches have fed off his energy. They listen and learn. A very good thing!

There may be some unanswered questions as how well the other coaches will coach up this year, with CJT there is none. More than likely you can add CTG to the list of being on board the coach up the players program.

The word off campus is the players want to make the turf at Sanford green with their sweat and hard work. Love it !!

Back in the day I use to have both Tuscaloosa and Birmingham as sales territories. Many a fine lunch of 3 veggies and a meat was enjoyed by myself at the City Café in Northport,AL. Just over the river from Tuscaloosa.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Tide as they face some difficult times ahead cleaning up after Wednesday’s tornado.

It is with a sad heart I view the news pictures of what once was and is now just sheer destruction with the loss of many lives.

Pause and give thanks, we are blessed. Been a spell since we thanked those who served and those who are still serving our county in uniform.

Have a safe weekend and a great week. As always “Go Dawgs”

yankeedawg1, I am in the same camp with you on Coach JT. For sure the group in Athens working out under his guidance know that he means business. Need only take a look at one player that was dismissed for a while for the type of attitude that seemed to have a hold in Athens. Think some of CJT's work ethic and nose to the grindstone has been utilized by Richt recently. Tereshinski will be counting heads over the summer and there won't be any free lunches come football season. UGA needed a good kick in the butt.

yd1, my wife's parents lived in Northport, as you say just across the Black Warrior River separating Northport from Tuscaloosa. My Father-in-Law was a medical doctor and spent many years with the University of Alabama and part of that was with the athletes. So sorry for the good people that live in that area. Hard working, mostly middle class, god fearing folks. Said in another thread that living in Florida, we have warnings when the hurricanes are coming, much sooner we get the warnings than the folks that face the tornados. So sorry for those folks and this might not be the last of the weather.

As a Veteran, there is never a day that goes by that I don't have those guys and gals on my mind one way or another. Too many young folks die or are hurt badly for some wars or conflicts that I don't think we should be in. As a disabled Veteran I am going to the VA Clinic in Viera, Florida today for some assistance. Think this is the day that they whip me back into shape. Think they like to hear me grumble . . . :)

Did notice that we got another commit yesterday, will be interesting to see how well we back up last years efforts. This particular player was praising Lakatos, good sign, we don't hear much about him.

Thanks so much for the Friday threads, usually upbeat and to the point. Good on you yd1.

Buc, I hope all goes well.
My wife is a RN who works at the VA hospital here in Nashville.
If you think you have problems, go to a Va hospital and put it in perspective.

Good on you averagedawg, and especially to your wife. If everyone had to spend one day at a VA medical facility it would change their lives in many different ways. :)

Found this article to be interesting.

Buc, It is amazing that we have stomped the same woods, before moving to Athens I always loved my time in Tuscaloossa. Even my wife's company had a district office there. Many times she asked why don't you find a job here so we can move.

A visit to "Dreamland" was another reason I loved the area.

I am all for CMR getting a little fire hey he answered these very same question over and over.

Get beyond last year and damn sure more important to get it right this year than hashing the past. Enjoy the weekend... Go Dawgs !!!

yankeedawg1, I truly believe that the defense is going to be so much better than last year.

Looking back at some of the losses, we should not be gullible to that type of play anymore. Jakar has said the he now understands what is going on. I can remember (believe it or not) playing high school football and learning the plays. Did not do that in one day.

Today the defenses are so complicated, can understand some of the young men having a hard time grasping the playbook. The thing that bothers me is some of the players not opening that playbook. College football, especially SEC football is far and away different than high school ball. (For the most part). There are exceptions to every rule.

Little pp and vinegar was needed by Richt.

Do have this thought . . . . Richt said a couple of good things about SS. Grantham in my opinion will try and stick it some place where the Sun does not shine when it comes to SS. This will be very interesting to watch.

Frankly I think that Richt had a couple of hard-butts come to town . . . maybe that had something to do with the recent show of "thin skin". McGarity and Grantham. No doubt in my mind that Grantham is "old school". Not to forget the third party that was already here . . . Tereshinski. :)
