Good Morning All,

Here we are in April and again it was another quite week in Athens. Even the coach speak has taken a different tone. Less babble.- Love It !

Last week I spoke of CJT and how he never has to take a day off with the players due to NCAA regs. He is Father Joe 24/7/365. This is a very good thing for our players and therefore our team.

Buc – wlayton both of you have picked up on this also and have made favorable comments how good this is for our program.

He has been recognized by the players as getting them stronger, bigger and more stamina.

What has not been spoken of to any length is what influence he is having with their minds. CJT is instilling an attitude change, which is why his results have been so dramatic.

He is winning their minds first. Total commitment to the program, anything less will not be acceptable. He has been able to transfer his love for Georgia football and his belief for what needs to be done for us to win to this group of players.

First off CJT is a good person whom the players trust and believe in. We could have gone out and hired and S&C guru but they would not have had CJT’s heart or his first hand knowledge of our Bulldog football pride.

Also remember how many hours of video he has watched of these players. This plays no small part in CJT being able to communicate at such a high level with the players. CJT speaks no BS!

Trust me the 6-7 record grinds on CJT just like it does on us. Time will prove just how valuable CJT reassignment turns out to be. Until something changes my mind, it is the best move by CMR since the release of WM.

Enjoy the beauty of Augusta and the "Masters"

Give thanks,we are truly blessed. Have a great weekend and a safe week.

One of the better posts that I have read in sometime. Really like your insight into what makes Coach JT more than a coach. He is taking up where many of these young players high school coaches left off.

Joe T is apparently doing an incredible job on the bodies of these young men from all reports. It is the mental thing in my opinion that is too often allowed to lapse between high school and D1 football. Good on Coach Joe Tereshinski. Some of these young players were closer to their high school coaches than anyone in their lives outside of their Mother. Fact.

How often do we read or hear where a player will make mention of a particular coach that has recruited him being the reason he chose that particular school. Being a peddler most of my life, I understand "getting to know folks". With Coach JT, it is as you say, he understands and respects UGA and that means a lot if you are going to play "follow the leader".

You wrote, and as I stated above, totally agree with you yankeedawg1.

ogredawg made the same assessment below in another thread. Think there is a lot of togetherness on this board.

Good stuff, keep it up. . . . :)

Another great thread, YD1.

Joe T. was in the trenches where those guys are now. He's not some football wannabe, but a dyed-in-the-wool offensive lineman himself. He knows what it's like to be smacking helmets with the big boys - something he did about as well as it could be done when he was here. Every man on the team has to look at him with not just respect, but admiration as well. When the man speaks, those guys WILL listen!

You're right about the attitude, too. He is a proven winner, and believes in TOUGHNESS. To win a close game will require cramming a pigskin down some teams throat this year, in the final drive. Joe T. has been there, and I have faith that he will get this team there too. What a difference that would have made last year. B)

Do have one question . . . .

What is going on with these hammies and groins . . . .?

Buc- thriller- thks for the kind words.

Rambo's mcl is the must serious injury. KM is fighting a groin and only time will heal him 100%

The word I am getting is all hands are knocking heads and going full out and holding nothing back during practice.

yd1, keep on keeping on, good work.

Question . . . .
Love the fact that we are getting stronger, bigger and healthier. Are we doing the proper stretching? I assume we are, however have seen a pro team that shall remain nameless go through this same thing. This particular team released their coach after a couple of years and the groins and hammies disappeared. I am in no way suggesting that Coach JT is the cause, I just wonder. Your body can be too tightly wound with muscle and this sort of thing shows its ugly head.
