Georgia To Host ITA Kickoff Weekend

ATHENS, Ga. --- The 11th-ranked University of Georgia men’s tennis team is set to host one leg of the 2011 ITA Kickoff at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Facility in Athens this Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 29-30.

The Bulldogs are hosting one of the 15 national sections for the third straight year. In all, 60 teams - four at each site - are competing this weekend for a place in the National Team Indoors Feb. 18-21 in Seattle, Wash.

Georgia Advances With 4-0 Win Over OSU

ATHENS, Ga. --- The 11th-ranked Georgia men's tennis team won its Saturday match to earn the right to play for a trip to the ITA National Team Indoors, defeating Oklahoma State 4-0 and set to take on No. 20 North Carolina Sunday at 2 p.m.

The winner of tomorrow's ITA Kickoff final will join the field for the national tournament Feb. 17-21 in Seattle.

#15 Georgia Cruises Past #31 VCU 5-2

The 15th-ranked Georgia women’s tennis team defeated No. 31 Virginia Commonwealth 5-2 here Saturday at the Cone-Kenfield Center in the first round of an ITA Kickoff Weekend event.
Up next, the Bulldogs (2-0) face sixth-ranked North Carolina (3-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m. The winner of that match advances to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, slated for Feb. 18-21 in Charlottesville, Va. UNC won its first round match 6-1 over No. 35 DePaul Saturday.
