Wasn't a forgiveness deal, we are all upset. Said my share of "stuff". Wish you would post more....we have so many smart "football" minds on this forum, it's great to read. If we all REALLY had any correct answers we would be in Athens ourselves......but loads of fun to "pretend". You are correct about one thing for sure......great people, great fans, great forum.

My sympathies to those who live in Florida.
To turn the ball over the way we did and make a game of it was remarkable.
Murray made some freshman mistakes but I don't put the blame on him.
I have a big problem with the OT play calling.
But hey, what do I know?

I'm sooooooooooooo beyond blaming, its pointless, useless and rather inane! My attempt, was to indicate that "blaming" amateur athletes for mistakes, at this point in our epic slide, is tantamount to applying a Band-Aid to a severed brachial artery! Athletes, even those that have been in the "arena" since Rec. Ball, are going to make mistakes and unfortunately they will be remember more for their errors than those few fleeting moments when it all clicked! As an example I'll refer to AM's last touchdown pass. It was a frozen rope, a lazer beam, threaded into triple coverage and AJ caught it. Yet, Murray will be remembered for another pass attempt, one with similar coverage, that yeilded a much different result. That's the sad irony of this sport...But I digress...As I stated earlier, for ME, this game was a culmination, the cumulative effect of a five year slide, the product of the illprepared and unenthused, the substantive result of where we were in 2005 and where we find ourselves at this moment in time.

If it serves you well to blame athlete's, feel free to continue to drink the Kool-Aide! If you honestly believed that that tired old Arizona hack stood a snowballs chance, or were expecting pixie dust to be magically sprinkled to prevent your ludicrous November 2008 reality check, my friend, perhaps another season of mediocrity will sway you. I've no belief, whatsoever, that CMR will be relieved of duty. He will have no less than one more season. The odds, however, are heavily stacked against him. So I ask, how many coaches and assistants need be replaced only to finally discover that the MAIN problem is the employer? I've been down this road and just like in marriage and in business there comes a time when the end result just doesn't meet the expectations........

GO DAWGS !!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not miss your point. I think you missed the title of the thread. It reads, "My thoughts about the UGA game", not "My Thoughts about the UGA season."

I am well aware that the coaching has lost some games over the last couple of years. All coaches that have coached the game of football have. Ours tend to be more than others.

I responded to your quote that we were outcoached in this game. Reading that I would take it that you believe the coaches are responsible for THIS loss. Which was not the case. Murray played terrific, with the exception of a few plays. Really all the boys played pretty good in my opinion, but it was a few of the mistakes that they made, that in all fairness cost us the game. No hatred to Murray. Still absolutely love the kid. Going to be an absolute great one. Sanders Cummings has played great all year. Just made a mental error. Those are facts for this game. Their safety intercepts the pass and returns it inside our territory. Our safety dropped a pick that could have changed the game for us. Those are just facts. I can accept that some times 18-22 year old young men are going to make mistakes. That happens. The results of those happenings in this league are losses.

Wrote the post to begin with because I saw comments bashing the coaches. I have bashed them myself, but some times we give them a little to much credit for a loss, which is what I was reading.

If we want to talk about the entire season, then yes I agree with a lot of the stuff you are saying, but that is not what this thread was about.

AD5......I've said it before......great athletes can make coaches look great, rarely do you see great coaches make an athlete look great.

In the case of THIS thread, the opposite happened......the great athlete(s) made the coaching look bad. I'm with you on THIS game and NO I don't wear rose colored glasses as some others have said. AM played 3 different roles in this game 1. a deer in headlights 2. an All-American 3. a goat. He will break most all UGA QB records before he's done but you've gotta call it like you see it.......mistakes cost us that game not the coaches.

Oh ......and not just his mistakes, there were several others (like maybe falling on a freakin fumble----TWICE in one game!! (1st one cost us a 7-0 lead, instead they drive down and score, 14 pt swing.......other one was in our territory where we didn't fall on the fumble and they went down a scored again)
