I don't have the stats at the moment but with the exception of last year, hasn't UGA recruiting classes been ranked in the top 10 for many years?
What about Alabama?
LSU?
Florida?
Auburn?
So the talent is there. Now you just have to have someone that will improve upon that talent and use it.
I wonder what CNS would have done with the UGA football program?
CUM?
CLM?
Where would it be if one of those guys were hired as the UGA HC?
Gillette, your post started the wheels turning and I came up with the following after a bit of research.
High school football players on the 2010 Florida roster from Georgia. . . 10

57 players leave the state. We recruit from the 4 states combined a total of 22.
Something is wrong with this picture. Is it coaching or recruiting or both? I have my thoughts. Recruiting can certainly get worse this season with the problems we are facing. Appears that the surrounding states have Georgia surrounded.

We've been in the top 10 and what's happening now? It's gotta be coaching because the talent is there.
There's a lack of fire, discipline, and enthusiasm in our coaches. Mainly from CMR (IMO) and it trickles down hill from there.

But Landry's players feared him.
I don't think Richt instills fear.

Seems to be the concensus across this site and others. Getting it handed to us from schools that are not getting the supposed "top ten" classes in the country and SEC.

I know it's a foregone conclusion, but just as proof, here are rival.com's rankings for UGA's recruiting classes from '02-'10--3,6,6,10,4,9,7,6,15. So yeah, top 10 other than this past year, and who couldn't see that coming.
