LimeyDawg, came up to post this. You are on top with your posting. You live on the West Coast of Florida, I think, so you know how good this young man is. Belongs here with AM and OC, and the rest of the talent that is headed our way.

A few days ago I entered a post about JWJ and a running back from Columbus, Ga. Made mention of our (UGA) connection with Coach Dungy . . . our meaning Coach Richt. Think I said something like I can feel Coach Dungy's presence in the recruiting of this incredible young man. Personally, feel he will select UGA, if not, I will be disappointed, however if JWJ does select UGA, we have a "keg of dynamite".

JWJ can play on either side of the ball. I did say and will stick to my guns . . . . believe his future (meaning NFL) is on the "D" side of the ball. He is a young man that the Lord has blessed with superior talent.

If I am wrong on this, will be greatly surprised.

Might I add this . . . . the coaching changes made by UGA after the 2009 season have meant so much to our school. The coaching talent now resides in Athens, the talent is there and increases it seems often.

Not going to say anything (much) about DREW . . . . You call it TREBLE Limey, I call it TRIPLE.

GO YOU SILVER BRITCHES . . . . ERK, we are on our way back! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Will not be surprised - he's the #2 rated ath - will be a good pick up - might hurt us in our fight with bama for Crowell who is the #1 rated running back - maybe he'll end up on the defense - that's probably his best route for the NFL

Seems to have been lots of good articles on various sports sites about UGA recruiting this last week - maybe they already know something

RabunDog, don't mean to be a cloud over the program, just feel that there is room for both Crowell and JWJ. If I had my "druthers" . . . JWJ would be putting the pads on for Coach Grantham's defense. However, JWJ knows what to do with the pigskin neatly tucked away.

Wonder also what CM's announcement played into this. Don't know that I have been this "jacked up" about recruiting EVER. More and more UGA has multi-talent at every position. Wins football games . . . . depth . . . DEPTH. Go Dawgs! :woohoo:

Crossed fingers for DREW. . . . :)

Yo Buc

The comment by Lemay that Drew had been talking with them almost daily gives me hope that just perhaps he might be headed to Athens as well - with what we already have and assuming wilder commits and then drew - we would definitely end up with a top 5 class - could very well be CMR's "dream team"

Sounds like Wilder wants to RUN just read the following on bleacher - also read somewhere that the announcement has been moved from tampa to athens

But Wilder knows how this game works—he's seen other players go through it and won't just eat up everything schools are throwing his way. That's why honesty will play such a huge role in this process, and why a promise to play running back must be sincere.

“I know some coaches are probably telling me what they think I want to hear so I am looking hard to find what coaches are being totally honest with me," said Wilder. "I want to trust the coaching staff that I play for and trusting the coaches is actually the biggest part of my decision...so if I don’t trust the coaching staff, then I am definitely not choosing that school.”

If sources are correct, it appears Wilder feels like Georgia, and not Florida or FSU is the school he's looking for.

We'll keep up to date with any further developments up until Wilder's official commitment at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

GO DAWGS

For sure Wilder knows how the recruiting wars are presented. His Dad being a pro football player, and a good one at that, seems to have his son prepared for the hoopla some throw at these young guys.

There are a lot of players that I pull for each recruiting year, some head our way and make me happy, others head in other directions and it leaves me feeling a bit empty.

Every team (especially the SEC teams) have their way of recruiting. I am a person that believes in consistency, have been that way most (most) of my life. It appears more and more to me that Coach Richt is that Rock of Gibralta that is paying dividends on the trail. Mentioned before that Central Florida produces many quality football players, let's keep Coach Richt and his forces in this area doing the good work.

When we get a outstanding player from Central Florida or Florida period, that is a huge boost for the UGA program. This area is crawling (literally) with gators and it is hard to move these guys away from Gainesville, Miami, FSU, UCF, USF and other schools located in the state. Especially hard pulling them away from Gainesville at this point.

One more point. When Martinez was released, many thought that it would really hurt our recruiting in Florida. Can see where some would think that, especially since Martinez played football in South Florida . . . Miami. Well, we don't have Wilder on our roster as yet, but I dare say that WM not being on the staff has not hindered our efforts since he moved on to Oklahoma.

Wilder would be a great signing. Lots of folks in Florida are watching this one closely. Lots of chatter down this way. Hoping we can turn that "chatter" to woof, woof.

Go Dawgs! :woohoo:
