RabunDog, believe it or not, the offense having problems with the new 3/4 excites me. The more heat the "D" can put on the "O" improves the offense down the road in my opinion. Especially if this "D" turns out to be what many of us hope for.
When the season starts, for sure when it is time for the coaches to "game plan". . . all of the coaches are going to be involved, probably more than ever before. This is an area that CTG can help Coach Bobo with, some of the defenses he is going to see this year, CTG has the time in service to be a very special aide. Also, Coach Richt and Coach Grantham are going to have their heads together frequently, like everyday, working on plans to not only improve, but to win.
Coach Richt has openly stated that he is going to be more involved with the offense. That is a plus, not like CMR has not been around a while. However, don't think that Coach Richt saw or practiced against that many 3/4's in his day with the pros, more 4/3's. Coach Richt working with Coach Bobo (and he will) will certainly give this offense a shot in the arm. CMR was really good at FSU, really good for a while at UGA . . . . much like General McArthur said when he had to leave the Phillipines in WWII . . . . "I shall return" and he did. I Look for the same this year and next with CMR. Too much at stake for the offensive side not to put points on the board. We know already that we are going to see a different defense, not just from a formation standpoint, but a GATA attitude. I don't doubt that for a minute.
One last point, Coach Lakatos. He believes in going after the ball, has his young players in the same mode. If one of our DB's goes for an interception and does not get the ball, the opponent does, I won't be heart broken (maybe). If the play is close and the DB had a chance, the effort was there. EFFORT and not POINTING FINGERS will be a beautiful thing.
Have not purposely left out the other coaches, as most of you know I have enough wind in my pipes to say something and more than likely will down the road. . . . . .
Go Dawgs!!
