This is a bit of an odd moment, but those of us who grew up in Turner Country know that it was a big moment in UGA history.

On September 22, 1997, former Georgia defensive end, Atlanta Falcon and Carolina Panther Bill Goldberg made his in-ring debut on WCW Monday Nitro, defeating Hugh Morrus to begin his record 173-match winning streak. On July 6, 1998, the newly-Christened "Goldberg" won his 108th straight match, defeating Hulk Hogan to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

What are your Goldberg memories? Whether at UGA, in the NFL or in WCW, talk about Big Bill, but talk especially about these two moments.

Personally, my favorite thing about it came long afterwards, when in an interview Bill Goldberg said that one of the best things about his time in WCW was going coast to coast and hearing America chant a Jewish name. Goldberg, like myself, has always been very proud of his Jewish heritage.

So share, folks! Share! WHO'S NEXT?

When I think of Goldberg, I think of something else he has a passion for........but I'm not allowed to talk about anything else but the 3 categories listed above. :( :P ;)

When I think of Goldberg, I think of Bullrun, a show he hosts on SpeedTV. Beautiful cars race around the country, sort of Cannonball run style. My best memory of the show is one year a driver from Auburn was on and was harassing Goldberg about being from UGA. Goldberg made the putz wear a Georgia shirt on that show. The guy wasn't going to put it on, and Goldberg basically told him "It's my show, wear the shirt or you're out". Classic.

Ok, thanks sadlerdawg, you brought up the Speed Channel and not the other categories. My favorite thing about Goldberg are his collection of muscle cars, one being a 1969 Camaro COPO, 427/450 HP worth about $350M-$400M. He has many great cars and they all fit his personality......pure power, aggressive and "in your face" one of a kind cars from back in the day.
