Forget the score. The first 3 games are going to be BRUTALLY HOT, focus on rotating the guys not only to keep them fresh for that game but fresh through that first 3 game stretch. The noon kickoffs are going to be won with depth (of course, mainly talking about USC and Ark).

Yeppers . . . .
Agree, score one for the Gipper . . . .

Agree it's going to be HOT and sounds like they are already planning on rotating a lot of guys because of the heat - I also think that the first game will play a lot of guys because we will be confortably ahead

Yep.......imo, the coaches need to be thinking of a "3-4 week ballgame". One week can sap the energy out of a player for the next week and so on. Even though they are young, the coaches really need to plan out this 3-4 game sequence for the players. Don't guess, assume or take chances when it comes to this heat and their stamina. Calculate each and every player's tolerance and stamina, have someone keeping "times" on the players in each game AND practices for the coaches analysis and be precise with their diets and hydration for the brutal 3-4 game stretch. All this would pay off......hate it when I see a player have to go to the locker room for an IV. Calculate and don't assume.

You are right on - I'm worried about the heat - hope they take your suggestions and make sure these guys are rotated and hydrated a lot - both offense and defense

Hey RD.......I'm sure these coaches have forgotten more about this subject than I have ever known. :woohoo: :woohoo: ;)

Just don't believe IV's should be involved in a game plan..

I hope our defense is good enough to shut them out, but I doubt if it would happen in any weather. 45-21. Like I said once before, we always give up cheap scores late. Think Hawaii, or more recently Texas A&M. Perhaps a shut out by the first team would be more realistic.

But I like the thought!
