RabunDog, have tried not to get too involved with teams changing conferences, hard not to. There will be some shifts for sure. Guess I will throw my hat in the ring this way . . . if Texas goes to the PAC-10, my thinking is Texas A&M will join the SEC.
IMO, We dont need anyone else they need and want to be like us in the South east. No matter who goes where or what. The Best coaches and talent will be in the South!!! GO DAWGSSSS!!!!!!
Sounds like TxA&M is likely to accept invitation to SEC if Tx&others go to the pac10
Latest news if that the big12 might have a plan that tx&company will accept and keep the big12 together for now - of course that means the other big12 schools will give up more money to tex to get them to stay
Read today where if big12 collapese - the other school that is interested in the SEC is Mizzo - a pretty large tv market - so if txa&m and mizzo are added to the west - the east would probably look at vatech and a nc school probably ncstate - that would give sec 4 new tv markets
I also agree with kd - think tex is using excuses to not be interested in sec - they are scared of the competition on the field and in recruiting
OSD has a good point - we already have the best - coaches and teams - we really don't need anyone else - and I think we would stay put unless at least 2 other conferences go to 16 teams
If the big12 stays afloat - hear mostly that pac10 would go after utah or boisestate to give them 12 teams - but they really want to go to 16 - I think if they are the only conference that goes to 16 - the others would still be better with only 12 teams
Well maybe the wait is over - just read on SI that texas and oklahoma have turned down the invite to the pac10 - texa&m has also issued a statement that they also will stay put - expect okla state and tex tech to follow suit shortly
so now the only question left is what will the pac10 do - only add one team to get to 12 or go for more - on second thought - does anyone really care what the pac10 does - they will NEVER be anywhere as good as the sec
