Mettenberger Gone!!

Well wlayton said he'd be gone - this is a surprise - would guess there's more story to come -hope it's not too ugly - seems kind of harsh for the supposidly regular underage drinking and disorderly conduct stuff - yes I'm sure CMR & company had a nice long talk with the family since they have been part of UGA for so long and I'm sure that they all agreed on the punishment - OH WELL

Is there any chance this is doing the kid a favor? If he is kicked off the team can he go to another school without sitting out a year?

I do not understand this, There must be more to this story, I thought CMR had already punished him for this by his first game suspension. I cant see how this helps us after the way he performed. He looked head and shoulders above AM and LG. Somthing else had to have happened, why would CMR let him stay around for the G day game if there wasnt?

I read over on an ESPN blog (unsubstantiated) that perhaps he had lied about the earlier trouble and the legal issue may be more serious.

I dunno.

Do we have a third QB at all?

I do not feel good at all about going into next season with just AM and LG. IMO it will be a much tougher season now this year. AM must improve a whole lot for us to be in it next season. and if somthing happens to him we are really screwed now!!! I never thought I would say I wished JC was coming back this season.

Just guessing, would think that maybe ZM violated a term that CMR imposed after the incident in Lowndes County. If ZM did not step out of line and get arrested, it really seems to me that he broke one of Coach Richt's probation rules. I hate it, but I agree with Coach Richt on this one. No way CMR releases ZM without cause. Sad.

Not sure, but think that ZM would have to sit another year before playing football again.
