Took some time today and watched the G-Day Game. I saw some very positive things with this group of UGA football players. Lots of talent, as we all know. After the South Carolina game, figure many questions will be answered.
Lots of talk about the QB position, should be, many folks from what I can discerne are in different camps. What this points out to me is, we have 3 capable young men that can run the offense. Best one . . . . will find that out in the fall. Will say this, glad that we have 3 young folks that can run the offense should injuries pop up. Heaven forbid.
Watching the game, noticed that A.J. made some very complimentary remarks about Mettenberger, same for a couple of others. Really glad that the approach thus far has been to make sure that the 3 can run our offense.
I am in the camp that wants to have a starter, best of the three, and that has to be and should fall on the shoulders of Coach Richt and Coach Bobo. Of course, that is the way it will be. Say this again, really glad that if #1 or #2 goes down, or both, we have a decent #3. Not many teams can say that. Watched Coach Richt for many years at FSU, he understands QB's, that is the reason he is back in the mix now, me thinks.
All three wear Red and Black with a touch of Silver. Most of us have thoughts of who #1 will be, glad that we have a choice THIS YEAR. I appreciate loyalty to seniors, but I definitely want the best players on the field.
Guess on my part . . . . think that we will see more than one QB playing probably all year. We aren't copying Urban, just think that as of now that is the way this competition is playing out.
Some have probably read this article below, found it to be interesting. Folks, this is a dadgum good team that has a chance to be better than good.
